Vienna Hive Meetup: If you want to have a say in the Hive DAO, you have to vote for the Return Proposal

Hatten gestern wieder ein super nettes Meetup in einer coolen Location und hatten auch Glück mit dem Wetter :)

Habe einen wichtigen Punkt zum Hive DAO angesprochen, vor Kurzem ist die Schwelle für Hive Proposals drastisch gesunken.

Der Return Proposal ist dabei maßgebend. Alle Proposals, die Stake-basiert mehr Votes bekommen als der Return Proposal, werden von der Blockchain finanziert.

Wenn man ein Jahr keine Proposals oder Witnesses votet, verfallen die Goverenance-Votes auch.

Zuletzt ist der Return Proposal auf unter 21 Millionen Hive Power gefallen. Das sind nur 12.5% der gesamten gestakten HP bzw. nur 5% des Hive-Supplys.

Ein großer Account kann seit Kurzem im Alleingang bestimmen, welche Proposals finanziert werden.

Das könnte prinzipiell ein Problem werden. Rein rechnerisch reicht es im Moment aus, mit 21M HP (das sind im Moment circa 7 Millionen Dollar) den gesamten DAO Fund, der derzeit 21 Million HBD enthält, zu kontrollieren.

Daher empfehle ich, wenn ihr über die Verwendung des DAO-Fund mitbestimmen möchtet, den Return Proposal zu voten und von Zeit zu Zeit einen Proposal, damit die Votes nicht verfallen.

Meine Kriterien für einen Hive-Proposal sind, der Impact bzw. Kosten/Nutzen für die Plattform, persönlicher Nutzen, und ob ein Projekt Open-Source ist oder nicht, wenn es sich um ein Software-Projekt handelt. DAO-finanzierte Projekte sollten meiner Meinung nach grundsätzlich so weit Open-Source wie möglich sein.

@stayoutoftherz hat vorgeschlagen den Beneficiary von Hive Meetup Posts auf @hive-199963 (Hive Meetup Austria) zu setzen (zb 10%), um die Gebühr für meetup.com Events zu finanzieren. Die Frage ist, wie viel meetup.com bringt, ob sich überhaupt jemand über meetup.com anmeldet, aber einen Versuch wäre es wert. Habe das Meetup diesmal auf tw, fb, ig promotet, aber leider mit mäßigem Feedback.

Had another super nice meetup yesterday in a cool location and also got lucky with the weather :)

Raised an important point about the Hive DAO, recently the threshold for Hive Proposals has dropped drastically.

The return proposal is the determining factor. Any proposals that get more stake-based votes than the Return Proposal will be funded by the blockchain.

If one does not vote any Proposals or Witnesses for a year, the goverenance votes also expire.

Most recently, the Return Proposal has fallen below 21 million Hive Power. That's only 12.5% of the total staked HP or only 5% of the HIVE supply.

Recently, a large account can single-handedly determine which proposals are funded.

In principle, this could become a problem. From a purely mathematical point of view, 21M HP (that's about $7M at the moment) is enough to control the entire DAO Fund, which currently holds 21M HBD.

Therefore, if you want to have a say in how the DAO Fund is used, I recommend voting for the Return Proposal, and voting for a Proposal from time to time so that votes don't expire.

My criteria for Hive Proposals are, the impact or cost/benefit to the platform, personal benefit, and whether a project is open source or not if it is a software project. DAO-funded projects should generally be as open-source as possible, in my opinion.
