My visit to middleearth

Guten Abend, liebe Hivians und Actifitter,

Und es gibt schon wieder einen Beitrag von mir und dabei ist mein letzter noch gar nicht so lange her. Den Sonntag morgen habe ich mit einem Workout begonnen. Zur Abwechslung habe ich heute kein CrossFit-Workout gemacht, sondern ein Hybrid-Workout. Dieses wird für die Athleten angeboten, die einen Hyrox machen wollen. Das Workout bestand aus 3 Runden von jeweils:

400m Laufen
40 Wallballs
40 Burpee-Broad-Jumps
400m Farmers Carry (16 kg)

Unser Coach hatte kein Timecap vorgegeben und als ich das mit ihm abgestimmt habe, hat er gemeint, ich bräuchte keines. Das Workout hat 47 Minuten gedauert, was ein bisschen lang war und ziemlich anstrengend. Aber egal, das was wir geschafft haben, haben wir gemacht. Vor allem die insgesamt 120 Burpee-Broad-Jumps waren sehr anstrengend. Für den Fall, daß ich das nicht erwähnt habe: anstrengend.

Am Nachmittag sind wir dann nach Geldern-Pont gefahren, wo an diesem Wochenende das Tolkien-Fest stattgefunden hat. Das Tolkienfest ist eines der, oder das Größte Festival für alle Elben, Zwerge, Hobbits, Orks, Zauberer und andere Bewohner und Freunde aus Mittelerde.

Auf einem Areal von 8 Hektar werden bekannte Orte aus Mittelerde aufgebaut (z.B. Rohan und Esgaroth), und bieten die Kulisse für das Festival. Dazu kommen viele Händler die Kleidung, Schmuck und alles mögliche rund um das Thema Mittelerde, LARP, Mittelalter, etc. anbieten. Ich war ziemlich angetan von den Herr-der-Ringe-Figuren (Sideshow Weta) und auch die alten Herr-der-Ringe-Spielzeugfiguren waren eine Versuchung. Aber ich wollte kein neues Sammelthema starten, sondern erst einmal bei den DC- und Marvel-Figuren bleiben.

Für das nächste Jahr überlegen wir jetzt von Samdrag suf Sonntag dort zu campen, am Samstag abend treten Mittelalter-Bands auf. Das ist zwar nicht ganz meine Musikrichtung, aber der Rest der Familie steht total drauf.

And there's yet another post from me and it hasn't been that long since my last one. I started Sunday morning with a workout. For a change, I didn't do a CrossFit workout today, but a hybrid workout. This is offered for athletes who want to do a Hyrox. The workout consisted of 3 rounds of:

Famous locations from Middle-earth (e.g. Rohan and Esgaroth) are set up on an area of 8 hectares and provide the backdrop for the festival. There are also lots of traders selling clothes, jewelry and all sorts of things related to Middle-earth, LARP, the Middle Ages, etc. I was quite taken with the Lord of the Rings figures (Sideshow Weta) and the old Lord of the Rings toy figures were also a temptation. But I didn't want to start a new collecting theme, I wanted to stick with the DC and Marvel figures for now.

Next year we're thinking of camping there from Saturday to Sunday, with medieval bands playing on Saturday evening. That's not quite my style of music, but the rest of the family are really into it.
