Today was our last day on the island, I was finishing up all the stuff that needed to be done around the property and loading and unloading our car also resulted in some major steps for me.
When we are on the island it is really nice, I feel really relaxed and even sleep deeper and longer. Island life is really relaxing, I can see why they say island time. It is really hard to work on the island.

On the way back we stopped by the beach and saw this blue heron. The smell of the ocean, the sun and gentle waves were really nice.
We missed our ferry just by a few minutes so we were a second car in line, so we got a spot right in the very front of the ferry. It was an interesting experience, we saw the ferry dock in Mukulteo in a way we never saw before.

While we waited for half an hour for our ferry we had a man approach our car and he was collecting signatures for repeal of the new ten percent income tax.
Right now it applies to high income earners only, but I have several problems with the new income tax. First it sets a precedent for income taxes in Washington and second what is now high income is going to be common income in a few years. That's just how inflation works.

Another issue is that Washington state traditionally relied on high property taxes that are raised every year based on annual appraisal. It is not like California where you pay property taxes based on your purchase price for the house.
Another issue is that on top of high property taxes we have high gas taxes and high sales taxes that are around eleven percent we now will have state income tax, that is just too much and could lead to business exodus out of our state. So we signed the petition.

Coming back from the island feels like coming back from vacation. Tomorrow I took a day off to go to my endodontics appointment. So I will not be going back to the office tomorrow. Instead I will find out if I have to redo a root canal or if I have a second set of wisdom teeth coming up.
Apparently there is such a thing as second set of wisdom teeth. Around one percent of people have those... I will also use my time off to drive our daughter to school and shopping at Costco as well as a few other errands that need to be done.

Coming back from our vacation I am also trying to get my mind around what is happening with Iran. It seems that we are in a short cease fire that has kind of held for about a month.
There is talk of a deal, but question is if it is going to done soon or if it is going to drag on for months, perhaps even past midterms. It seems that the oil stockpiles are going to be depleted and prices are going to stay high or even go higher...
