My Actifit Report Card: December 12 2025

Stepping outside during these relatively cold autumn days has become harder, yet more rewarding. Yesterday, Kambiz, the dogs, and I stepped into the street without any clear destination. I wished my friend Fatemeh could join us, but she didn’t answer my call. Since she lives nearby, I went to her door as well, but there was still no response, so I assumed she was asleep

We walked a bit, breathed deeply, took in the air, and then decided to head toward a wooded hill we sometimes visit, where two walnut trees wait for us to play with them.

The weather was sunny, and the bright light made the astonishing colors of autumn even more delightful. We were all lively and full of energy. Autumn leaves carpeted the ground beneath my feet as I walked through this calm mosaic of colors, sometimes carried away by my thoughts. I would come back to myself, reminding myself that I was here. I could hear my own heartbeat, syncing its rhythm with the heart of nature

As we got closer to the hill, we saw a small flock of sheep standing behind the closed gate of the enclosed area we wanted to enter, watching us anxiously. I told Kambiz that if we went in, Smarty would definitely chase them and it would turn into trouble. But Kambiz didn’t listen and said, “No, we’ll just mind our own business.” Exactly what I feared happened—the flock fled in panic across the land while Smarty ran after them.

After getting through that challenge and the stress it caused, we finally reached our destination—and only then did we realize we hadn’t brought any water with us. Kambiz picked some oranges, which helped ease our thirst, and then we moved on to tree climbing. It felt amazing, and we got in some great practice. The tree had been well washed by rain and sun and had shed its leaves, so it was clean, open, and perfect for climbing

We left the place in a good mood and returned through a different street. Autumn prepares a new painting for us every day. Let’s savor this beautiful autumn.
