My Actifit Report Card: September 26 2026

Hey Actifitters,

Yesterday, with plenty of time in the afternoon and a beautiful sunny but not hot day, I decided it was time to try a visit to our bigger forest. Kaia seems to limp a bit less maybe because of the rest she got during my last trip and the relative laziness since then. So let's try! See how that made Le Chat happy...

But first we made our usual stop near the small forest just behind the front yard.

Since we've been limiting ourselves to this one for a while now, Kaia was ready to go in.

But not this time and we were quickly heading to the bigger forest. It's funny, every year, this particular tree foliage is the first one to turn. This year, it's pretty much the only one in the neighborhood except for a few tiny spots here and there.

Ah this last part before the forest, it's been too long!

Kaia was very excited, so many new scents after so long, and probably critters not expecting her too!

We didn't want to overdo it on this first try but we did walk until the clearing in the middle. Still there but trees are finally taking over again, it's been maybe 4 or 5 years since a storm broke down all these trees in the middle.

You night remember that one of my favorite things in this forest is catching the sun through the leaves. It's not easy to do the same in the small forest.

So I really took advantage of it, with many many photos!

And for once we completed our walk in the neighborhood long before sundown.

Well, it was nice to walk the trails in what used to be our daily destination. Kaia seemed tired but didn't limp more than the past few days, so we probably will try again, before she gets her surgery of course (haven't scheduled it yet, so not right now anyways). I'm struggling to accept she's now a senior dog and even though she's always willing to go on long walks, we need to pace her. That is why I will most likely not bring her with us next week end when we go up North, long hikes in not-so-easy terrain, not good for her unfortunately. But we'll see.
