Hey Actifitters,
As expected, the heat became even worse yesterday. Higher temperatures and higher humidity, brutal! Even Le Chat who usually handles heat much better than us, was clearly affected. She stayed several hours indoor in the A/C and was trying to stretch as much as possible...

So of course, the plan remained similar, stay as much as possible inside and try to use every little excuse for a few more steps. Glad I got that standing desk a few years ago! Just before it got dark, we tried to go for our daily walk near the small forest.

Always beautiful, but damn, it's a huge mosquito party out there! We didn't stay too long, and again at least a dozen bites before we got out of the forest.

Kaia doesn't have the bite issues, but they do swarm around her eyes and she keeps swatting at them. In spite of it and the heat itself of course, she still enjoys our short walks.

We kept our last loop in the neighborhood short of course, like I said yesterday, it's not very enjoyable in these conditions.

And that was it for the day. At least a couple more days with such extreme heat and even possibly worse on Thursday. One thing for sure, I will bring my desk setup downstairs and we will most likely set up the spare bedroom downstairs too. The new A/C works very well and keeps most of the house very comfortable, but the upstairs 1 and a half story bedroom/office is incredibly warmer because of the lack of insulation in the cathedral ceiling and the fact there is no door, just stairs. I checked, it is more than 10 degrees warmer than downstairs. Not great for an entire day of work. Like I said, immediate solution: move everything downstairs. Long-term solution: contact professionals to measure and analyze airflow patterns and temperature distribution, so we can fix the root cause. Sounds hard work and pricey... we will see.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
