Giant Snales

It was yet another beautiful day. It's been raining since the last week and today was a little better. It didn't rain much but the weather was cool and calm and quiet. I enjoyed my day.

Today was not a routine, mundane day. It was a good one because I sat down in the nursery, let myself rest and relax. And I also got to focus myself on things that I really, really wanted to do for quite some time.

I made sure to rest today. I was a little bit tired, and I wasn't getting enough sleep for the last few days, and I made sure to sleep, rest, relax, and then went to the nursery.

At the nursery, it was a sight to behold. Thousands of plants, hundreds of flowers, and birds all around, and yes, a few insects, and hundreds and hundreds of snails. I am tired of these snails. They are everywhere, honestly. I don't know how to deal with them. I don't want to kill them. I don't want to hurt them, but I want them out of my nursery.

If you know how to deal with these snails, I think they are called giant African snails or something. I'll have to Google. They are dark, chocolatey colored snails with shells that look like they come from the sea, and kids, whenever they come into the nursery, they find it pretty interesting, and they try to catch them and get scared because of the little animal living inside the shell.

The snails are all around the nursery. By now I have thrown at least 10 to 15 of them outside hoping they would just vanish but they don't.

Some of them are as small as my pinky finger and some of them are as big as my fist. They are big and they are crawling all over my plants. I don't know how to deal with them.

Once in a while, there's a kid who comes inside the nursery and takes a look at these snails. These kids often get surprised and happy at seeing a snail, and they want to have one, but they get scared of it.

Everyone gets scared at first, but then when you know about these snails, when you know that they are not harmful, you'd enjoy them.

The nursery needs some rearranging of plants and pots and everything. The last few days there were hundreds and hundreds of plants laying all around. Now at least 10 to 20 percent of the stock has been sold and there's enough space for people to move around.

I've been trying to do everything myself but it's not quite possible so I get help from some of the workers and I do have to pay with somebody. That's the part of my regular business and not everyone is making enough from their businesses.

I'm thinking of making some experimental compost for my plants.

I have watched a few videos on YouTube where people are putting scraps from their kitchen, all the kitchen waste, into a bowl, into a box, and then watering it, adding water to it, so that it releases its nutrients and eventually gets composted.

I watched a few videos and in those videos the universe are trying to make compost tea, what they call compost tea, is they take a bowl of water and then add kitchen or fruit waste and then in 2-3 days they take out the water and spray on plants or add it to the soil.

I don't know if this method is successful but what I know is that if you keep using this method then your plants will not be healthy because such a water can have bacteria that can damage your plants.

I know you might think that everything that's on YouTube is trusted and good but it is not. Always make sure to experiment on your own and then use small quantities to know what works for you.

Now what I am going to do is I have a barrel or what do you call a drum a small tanker 200 that can hold up to 200 liters of water where I am planning to put some soil, red soil, black soil, fish waste, fruit waste from nearby fruit market and then I'm gonna add some waste decomposer liquid into it, churn it out and then wait for at least two to three months for everything to compost, dissolve and rot so that I can use it in my nursery for my plants.

And if it gives me good results then I am going to sell it to my customers and my clients. Hopefully it will work out. It's an experiment and it might take me at least two months or three months to finally know the results of everything that I have been asking my people to do.

I have done a small experiment on this a few months ago and it did work really well.

But this time I am planning to add more stuff and make it better than my previous experiment.

Once I am done preparing this compost or compost tea or whatever you call it, I am going to use it on my rose plants.

The reason why I am planning to use it on my rose plants is that a lot of people buy these plants and then eventually they don't work and the plants end up getting damaged. So, one of the easiest way to produce and to utilize it is to use it on my rose plants.

So that's all for today. I'm gonna come back tomorrow or day after tomorrow and write more about my journey at my nursery.

Until then please take care, have a wonderful day and spread happiness to everyone.

Thank you for reading and supporting my thoughts.
