My Actifit Report Card: June 29 2025

Hello guys. I'm back with another ActiFit post. Hopefully, I'll be writing... I'll be writing continuously and continue my streak of consistency. I have always struggled with consistency.

5-6 years ago, I made my mind to be consistent at one thing. Eventually, I started writing these ActiFit posts. I used to write health updates on my other blogs, other places. It gave me confidence. It gave me motivation to continue.

Writing on social media, writing on decentralized social media or anywhere is good. It helps us stay motivated. It promotes accountability and that way we all start to be consistent.

I started my health journey somewhere around at the end of 2021. The COVID era was ending. Lockdowns were ending and shops and businesses and cities were opening up. Trains and planes were opening up, so I had made up my mind to spend some time on myself.

What I did was, around September, October, I took a bus to the nearest city, historical city. I spent some time there, walking, sightseeing and eating local delicious food and meeting local amazing people.

This went on for months. I would stay in a city for about a week to two weeks, sometimes three weeks. I would explore the whole city on foot, never taking any mode of transportation, except when I had to visit the next city.

So, once I was in a city and I had a lot of places to visit, historical places. There were tombs, there was a forest garden that I planned to visit and all sorts of amazing things. I had to walk around 35 kilometers that day, from one side to another side, and it was amazing.

35 kilometers, by the end of the day I was tired, but I was beaming with energy. I was smiling, I was radiating so much energy and happiness that I couldn't ever, ever explain it to you guys.

I spent the rest of the year doing the same thing, visiting new cities, seeing architectural marvels, old buildings, ruins, gardens, forests, and roads, a lot of roads. At an average I walked around 25 km a day. 35 km a day was the highlight of my journey.

I came back in December and then never went back again. But my health has been better. My work has been better. I keep being consistent with my food, with my habits, with my activities, and it has helped me a lot.

Have you ever picked up a task, an activity, a hobby, and tried to be consistent with it? If yes, then please do let me know. I would love to know your stories and never forget that sharing helps motivate each other.

While on this subject, I just remember about New Year's Resolution. A lot of people used to do that, and these days I don't see many people doing New Year's Resolution, but back in early 2000s when I was a teenager, I remember a lot of people used to do that.

Teachers in our schools used to ask us, What is your New Year's Resolution? What are you trying to do? What will you accomplish in the coming year?

I remember the first thing that I ever wrote was to be a good student, to study consistently, and to get better grades. I never could do that, honestly. I never got good grades in school, but I was a decent student.

I do hold a Master's Degree in Computer Applications, but the dream of being a topper of my class, of my school, of my university, that never happened. I never really focused on that, to be honest.

It's always better to be a mediocre student than to spend my day and night reading and studying, and losing my hair, my teeth, and getting just a paper with a distinction written on it.

Eventually, when I started using Facebook in 2009, I would always make a point to write a New Year's post and I used to mention what my resolution for the next year is.

One of the resolutions was to say no. I wanted to learn to say no to people, no to things that I shouldn't be doing, and honestly, it has helped me a lot. I'm still consistent with that. Whenever I feel that I can't do a certain thing, I say no.

Before that, I used to say yes to everything. People would say, oh, let's go to the movies. I'd say yes, even though I shouldn't be going because maybe I didn't have money, maybe I had to study, maybe I had an exam, maybe I had some other task at home.

I'd say yes and I'd go. Sometimes, my friends would come to me for help with money, with stuff that maybe they got into a fight with someone, maybe they got into a debate or discussion with someone and they need help. I'd say yes and I'd go and try to help them as much as possible.

Eventually, I learned that I was just wasting my time. I shouldn't have said yes to everyone and everything. I should always pick and choose.

I never want people to be disappointed, so I'd always say yes. It took me years to learn the art of saying no. Now, it's easy for me to say no when I see that the thing is not as important as it looks like.

Now, since the last two years, I'm trying to be consistent with fasting. And last year, from October till early January, I was able to fast at least once a week. It has helped me a lot. It has helped my health a lot.

Fasting is spiritual, religious, but it also is for my health. Fasting helps me rest my body. Fasting helps me expel toxins and excess weight. There are a lot of benefits of fasting, and it does help me a lot.

Eventually, my goal is to fast at least twice a week for the rest of my life. I know it's a big goal, but hopefully I'll be able to do that. If I'd be able to fast at least three to four days a month, I'd say that would be a big success for me.

That's all for today. I'll come back tomorrow, continue my journey of consistency in writing these posts and talking to you all. See you tomorrow. Shab-a-Khair. Have a nice day.
