Cheshire cat is here! : Actifit Report Card: July 2 2026
Garden centres are fascinating places to visit even if you're just browsing, or even just to visit the tea room which most of the centers do have these days. In fact that was the prime reason to visit Coolings again today. Their tea room is very good indeed, serving lunches as well.
Looking around, I was surprised to find the Cheshire cat figure and a coincidence as well since I was in Guildford recently visiting Lewis Carroll 's Alice through the looking glass sculpture. Cheshire cat is a character from his novel Alice in Wonderland of course.
There were characters from other stories too, like Jungle Book.
An impressive life size horse model is an eye catcher and looks good in this setting.

You can’t beat a good garden centre visit. We visit various frequently. Longacres near Bagshot is a great one for example. Redfields near Fleet is great too.
I’d love to see the Alice in Wonderland sculpture in Guildford which isn’t too far from us really.
If you do go to Guildford, the sculpture can be found in the castle grounds, which are well worth a visit.

Ah yes! I remember it now! We haven’t been in many years and the sculpture has been there for a long old time.

It does look good but I was a little disappointed that it is made of plastic material and so very lightweight.
That's too bad my friend, but at least it would be durable out in the garden, have a wonderful weekend!!🤗
