Animals can be so funny sometimes. We visited Tilgate Nature Centre again today. The meerkats were having their siesta and were flat out on the sandy ground enjoying the sunshine.

We were hoping that the cranes had hatched their eggs but it is not certain that there are any at all! One bird was resting on the ground in the same spot as last time. The other one was very active trying to jump up the fencing and get at us! So, its not clear if they abandoned their eggs or not.

There are lemurs here to but every time we come they are inside their den where it is difficult to see them. They have a large outside enclosure to enjoy but I have never seen them out there. Is it just bad timing or perhaps they don't like our climate 🤔 🤣.
The parrots were more acclimatised.

Seeing animals you wouldn't normally see can be extremely interesting! Sounds like you enjoyed the trip.
We are going to a zoo next weekend when we visit our son, daughter in law and granddaughter. It will be her first zoo trip and our first in over 34 years! (lol-we don't get out much!)
Nice job with your 8578 @actifit steps for the day. Take care!
34 years! Wow! Thats a long time. Zoos have changed a lot in that time, operating costs and regulations always force these changes. 😒.
Enjoy your visit.

I love all animals some of my best friends are animals and they are not even mine i have always had a connection with them.

It probably is a little sad to some, i also apparently attract neurodivergent children many in the area will not let me pass without conversation, my wife says its because they are attracted to a kindred spirit.
I wasn't sure about it at first but everyone says it nowadays, i just consider myself close to nature and good with kids from experience.
Others seem to be thinking more deeply than i was about it.
Personally i just think kids and animals are better than most adults from my experience.
Enjoy nature my friend what you get back is pure.
Have a blessed day @davidthompson57

I guess children and animals have a certain innocence that adults just lose, in the majority of cases.
