My usual mountain bike is having a service so I had to resort to an old one for this ride. A bit of a shock π². Having riden an electric mountain bike for a year or so it comes as a shock when getting on a conventional bike again. My heart rate was much higher! No surprises I hear you say, but it was hard!

The tracks were drying out well. In fact so dry that I found the going very rough. Probably due to no rear suspension on this bike. One good feature though is the carbon frame. Handy for lifting the bike over styles and fences as in my first picture. That was an interesting style, right on the edge of the river bank.

The wild garlic is beginning to flower now and is producing that very strong and unmistakable pungent aroma.

I was taking a short cut across some fields, making use of the lightweight bike and some handy footpaths. Then it was back to bridalways and a little tarmac single-track road.

The sunshine has been exceptionally bright today and it has been our warmest day this year at 26Β°C. Very nice, and feeling like summer, though not going to last as much cooler weather is coming.

There were some nice bluebells on show at the roadside and in the woods. A regular feature here in England and indeed across Europe.

It has been a challenge today with the change of bike but I think it could be beneficial. I cut off the ride at 10 miles or so. Enough to get the resulting boost of fitness. That's what it is all about, and what a way to get fit! In these lovely surroundings.

The bluebells are flowering in Seattle are as well. 22k steps is impressive! Is that in addition to biking?
Sounds like a nice warm day youβre having my friend!π
Looks like an awesome bike ride!ππ€
