Conditions this morning were so good that I couldn't let the opportunity pass. Temperatures were a very mild 12°C. Ideal for a ride on mt bike!

Shortly after the photo by Titmus lake I noticed a problem with my bike. The rear wheel was very wobbly! I think the axel fixings are loose. I didn't have any tools with me so I took it very easy after that!

Upon entering Tilgate Park I took this short hill beside the nature centre. It is steeper than it looks!
The park was quite busy so I did not attempt to circle the main lake.

Due to the amount of rain we have had recently, meant that it was too wet to venture off the tarmac paths. I did notice a patch of daffodils that were beginning to flower. These are not the first ones I have seen this year but still early for these lovely spring flowers.

Today was a good ride in nice mild temperatures, and really feeling spring like. We just need a prolonged dry spell, which will come eventually, probably at the end of February. There is still time for another freezing blast from the arctic though, so anything is possible!

Thanks, it was just a loose axle nut. The rear wheel is not quick release so I couldn't do much until I returned home. All is well though!

Just a loose spindle/axle. On longer rides in summer I'll carry some tools with me in case of this kind of thing happening.
