My Actifit Report Card: October 29, 2026

The rainy season is officially here where I am. The air quality is still horrible, though. We're just having to live with it and deal with the rain, too.

I climbed up the durian tree to see more clearly the little round buds where flowers would grow. Still optimistic about it, but also realistically the durian tree doesn't like the rainy season. It needs heat and not so much watering, especially during the flowering phase.

With the rainy season comes the bekicot. They're snails.

This one is very common in Indonesia. In fact, if you go to the 🐌 Wikipedia page for them, the snail's photo is a bekicot from Bali.

If you see one, you can bet there will soon be more of the slimey creature. These snails lay hundreds of eggs at a time. They eat leaves and will latch on to plants if you let them.

People in parts of Java intentionally breed them for food. I've never eaten them. I don't think I'll ever want to eat one.

Here's another animal that comes out during the rain. The frogs.

I saw a few of them gathering in the garden and tried to snap a group photo of them. They quickly hopped away as soon as they felt my presence.

Due to the rain I couldn't freely walk outdoors. Still I walked indoors and met my daily steps count.
