If you were asked which piece of human-made technology you like the most—and why—what would your answer be? For me, the answer comes instantly: the smartphone. The mobile sector has undergone unprecedented changes over the last twenty-five years.
When I was a child—around 2003 or 2004—we had a landline at home. Mobile phones existed back then, but they weren't widely used. By 2006, a small, keypad-operated Samsung mobile arrived in our household.
I struggled quite a bit to figure out how to use it—first learning how to make calls, then how to send text messages. Two years passed, and eventually, I had to move to another district for higher studies. That’s when my father bought me a smartphone—a Nokia.
From the moment I got it, I spent countless hours experimenting with it, driven by sheer curiosity and an eagerness to learn. After that, things became effortless; I could pick up any mobile phone and use it with complete ease.
As technology continued to advance, tasks that once required us to go out in person can now be completed in a split second, right from the phone in our hands. Furthermore, for someone like me—who doesn't talk much to others—this mobile phone serves as an entire world of its own.
Sometimes, we come across videos on YouTube that speculate about what certain objects might look like in the future. Among the various concepts I’ve seen for future smartphones, there was one I particularly liked: a device that projects an interface onto your hand, allowing you to interact with it—touching and controlling it—as if it were a physical screen.
Of course, I know that’s not becoming a reality anytime soon, no matter how much I might wish for it! 😄.
As for today, I spent the entire day at the office working without ever getting up from my seat, which left my legs feeling completely stiff and sore. I only stood up to head home for a meal, and then again when it was finally time to leave for the night. Once I got home, I enjoyed a delicious, fragrant meal, went for a short walk, took a bath, and then—feeling thoroughly exhausted—I simply went to bed.
