I recall a line from a movie that goes something like this: "Opening one's eyelids is birth, closing them is death—why all this frantic struggle for a life that lasts only the blink of an eye?" Whoever wrote that line clearly drew from a deep, personal understanding of the human experience.
While the words might seem simple at first, a moment of focused reflection reveals a profound truth—a realization that perhaps only truly dawns upon us after we have lived through an entire lifetime.
One might wonder, "What impact can mere words possibly have on a person?" Yet, their influence depends entirely on the context in which they are spoken, the timing, and the receptivity of the person hearing them.
From childhood, we are constantly exposed to the words of others; some we may like, others we may dislike, and some we might even choose to put into practice. However, if we wish to grow in life, it is essential to carefully consider and follow the wisdom we hear.
Everything we see around us today began with a single individual; it grew in stages until it was eventually adopted by everyone. For instance, some people might advise, "Don't worry too much about the future." At the time, we may not grasp the meaning or significance of such advice.
But when our otherwise smooth lives encounter unexpected turbulence—when we realize that even the most carefully laid plans offer no guarantees and that the future is not truly in our hands—only then does the wisdom become clear.
It is not enough to simply hear words of wisdom; one must also contemplate the impact they can have on one's own life. We often read many books and watch or listen to motivational content—but the true value lies in how we internalize and apply those insights.
However, if we fail to utilize the value brought into our lives by such people—choosing instead to shift our focus elsewhere—it means we have not truly grown.
Life, after all, is very short; it is not measured by time, but rather by the good we do and the love, care, and affection we show toward others.
As for my own day, I took leave from the office to attend to some personal matters. I started early in the morning, and by the time I finished and returned home, it was already around midday. I rested for a while, and in the evening, I went out for a walk. I concluded the day with dinner, followed by a sleep brought on by exhaustion.
