The first mobile my father bought for me was a Nokia 6630. Back then, it was considered a smartphone—it had web browsing, games, and apps, though the memory was quite limited. It did, however, have a slot for a memory card.
It ran on the Symbian OS, and I remember how thrilled I was using it, marveling at what a smartphone could actually do. Before getting that phone, I used to have access to a small keypad phone belonging to my mother; at the time, I didn't even know how to make a call or send a text message on it.
I eventually got to know a neighbor who taught me the basics of making calls and sending messages on that small phone. Later, when I got the Nokia 6630, I experimented with it extensively to learn how everything worked. While I was studying engineering, I got my first Android phone—a Celkon A97 model I think if I remember correctly.
From that point on, the experiments I conducted on it were countless. My first experiment involved removing the original ROM, rooting the device, and installing a custom ROM to see which functions worked and which didn't.
