There was a time when weekends meant meeting up with friends, having breakfast out, catching a movie in the afternoon, and wandering around in the evening before heading home at night.

Some memories might seem small, yet they leave a profound impact on us. Once we start working, things gradually change; everyone gets busy with their own responsibilities, making it difficult to meet up.

A time that works for one person might not suit another—often due to the nature of their jobs. We might not be able to meet in person, but simply having a conversation over the phone brings a sense of satisfaction.

For some, even that isn't possible. Very few people reach out to check on us when they know we are going through a rough patch. They might be in a situation where they cannot offer tangible help, but that doesn't mean they’ve abandoned us; they still care enough to ask how we are doing.

We often realize the true value of such a person only when there is no one left to even ask after us. Until then, we might unfairly judge them, thinking, "He just talks but never actually does anything."

In my opinion, while it is wrong not to help when one is capable, a simple inquiry or check-in is better than nothing when one cannot provide material assistance.

As for today—being a holiday—I didn't do much; I just attended to a few daily chores, went for a walk in the evening, and got plenty of sleep.
