As times change, human values are shifting too; people are losing their values without even realizing it. In the past, people used to help one another—though, admittedly, caste prejudices were strong, and assistance was often limited to one's own circle.

Today, however, the sense of community is gone; it is very much a case of "everyone for themselves," regardless of who is nearby. We have invited these troubles upon ourselves, and our values are failing to hold their ground against the allure of money.

I cannot point fingers at anyone, as people believe they are working hard for their own benefit—but one must ask, where does that ambition end?

Some businesspeople sell substandard goods just to maximize profits, while others adopt an attitude of indifference toward the well-being of others, caring only about their own prosperity.

My hope is that, despite this mindset, people will eventually look beyond their own self-interest and desire the well-being of everyone.

As for today, I couldn't go for my morning walk because of the festival, though I did manage to go for one in the evening. I also handled quite a few errands and outdoor tasks today, given the festive occasion. Since it was a holiday from work, I was able to get some rest as well.
