The temperature is rising, and we can definitely feel it. The past week, it's been hard to go for any outdoor activities. My sister is still here, and we would like to make the most out of her time here, but we end up going out in late afternoons when the temperature is expected to get tamer.
Today, we picked to go to the Abrahamic Family House in Saadiyat Island.
It is a place where three churches were built together to promote tolerance and peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths.
The Abrahamic Family House is dedicated to the pursuit of peaceful coexistence for generations to come. Our space serves to bridge our common humanity through the exchange of knowledge, ongoing dialogue, and the practice of faith.

Insde this complex are a Catholic Church, Mosque, and a Jewish Synagogue.
We registered via the website and got free passes. The ladies at the reception kindly told us the directions we can go.
We visited all three churches (we were not able to enter the mosque since we did not have scarves to cover our head) and admired the concept and the architecture. It was a different experience.
We tried to go to the Mamsha Al Saadiyat to find some place to eat lunch, but parking was tricky (paid. Lol). We just headed back to the city and passed by the Souk Al Mina at the port, and got something to eat there. Then off we went to our next destination.
We got tickets (free, just register online) for a 6:00pm tour. This was just great if we wanted to catch the mosque's grandeur at night time.
We were directed to park at the western front side parking, which was quite far.
We were already halfway through the front yard when a guard stopped us to say that visitors need to enter through the mall at the basement. 😪
It was my second time here- the first one was 11 years ago when the mosque was fairly new. It was not different. The visitors had to walk along a rope-guided lane. There were areas like the outdoor prayer yard and the inside prayer hall where visitors could not freely go. It made sense, I think. Especially with the massive carpets inside. With thousands of visitors daily, it would be a pain to maintain, and would wear and tear very quickly.
Out feet were already like jelly. I was telling my sister that my Samsung Health app has been very happy with me registering above 8k steps at least daily since she came.
We were tempted to take the buggy to the exit, but it was also tricky (paid. 🤣).
We managed to crawl through the parking area and reached home in one piece.
Indeed, the sacrifices in visiting 4 churches in one afternoon must have been noted above, because our feet surely did. 🤪
