My Laptop Died
Last week, out of nowhere, my laptop died and would never turn back on. It had a power indicator from the charger, meaning it was not the adaptor but nonetheless it doesn't show any sign of life. I was so upset because it hasn't been a year since I bought it. I called an authorized service center nearby, but they said since I did not buy my laptop here in PH, they cannot honor the warranty.
I could not accept my laptop's fate just like that, so I called the HP customer care and spoke with someone after being on hold for 30 minutes. The lady on the other line confirmed that my device is covered by global warranty, but I need to go to either their Makati or Cebu office so that it would be honored.
Makati or Cebu?
Of course, if only I could, I would love to finally visit Cebu. However, it's so faraway and Makati is my only option. š
I booked an appointment through their website for a visit on Friday.
I started early, because I anticipated how bad the traffic would be. My two younger ones decided to tag along. We took the bus and were off as early as 6am.
Crazy actifit app on my phone registered even the bouncy moments in the bus as steps! lol.
At the bus, my app already registered 5k steps.
Most of the steps, though, happened after the visit at the HP service center in Makati.
After they received my laptop and gave me the paperwork and the information regarding the repair of my laptop and stuff about warranty, I booked a ride going to BGC since we have tickets booked to visit the Mind Museum there.
Walking in Circles.
We had lots of time. Our booked slot in the Mind Museum was 3.00pm and it was only 12.00pm. It was our first time to go there, and I was oblivious to the restaurants and amenities there.
Great thing, the place was highly conducive to walking. It was not hot because it's been raining in the morning and was cloudy for the rest of the day.
There were many areas where we could stop and just enjoy the scenery. We looked for a place to eat and then headed to the direction of the Museum without any hurry.

We reached the Mind Museum early which was okay since I had issues with the etickets I purchased the day before. I did not get the tickets in my email so I intentionally came early just in case there would be more investigations to be had.
We had a great time inside the Mind Museum. There were lots of interactive displays that not only kids would enjoy, but anybody, regardless of age.
We had 3 hours to explore the museum, but we did not take that long. We were probably inside for about 2.5 hrs.
It would have been nice to stay and walk around the BGC at night, but we had to meet my sister at the bus station because we agreed to go back home together. The travel back to the bus station, even if it wasn't far, took us 1.5 hours.

Did they told you when you are to get your laptop, it's good that global warranty was there and you took it to Makati.

They said they will notify me within 2-3 working days if they fixed it (depending on if they have the parts, which I hope they do!). Then it will be another escapade with more steps when I go back there. š¤
