My Actifit Report Card: July 18 2024

Today's school trip was to Brean, which is basically the local seaside for our area. That meant I only picked up 4 kids this morning to take them to school. I had tried to persuade the others that I would get the bus to school before the coach for the trip left the school, but evidently, they didn't believe me. They, of course, all waved to me when I arrived, and they were still waiting for the coach.

After my first shift, I went out for my run. My training plan informed me that I had to do an "easy" run today, which should equate to a pace of about 6 mins per km for me. My run of about 13km was bang on pace, but it felt anything but easy.

It think it was the temperature being hotter than normal, but I was struggling by the time I arrived home. I did my Bath / Bristol cycle path loop as that's about the flattest route from my house, but that didn't make things any easier. I'm just hoping I can recover before my next (luckily shorter) planned run on Saturday.
