It looks like I found the best community that fits my needs and my weekly schedule! I usually share these walks in the #WednesdayWalk community, but as I'm running the #HHHLive show on that day, I'm usually exhausted and can't create any posts on Wednesday... But, on the other side, the week doesn't have enough days to publish everything that I would like to share, and because of that, my (internal) photo gallery is growing and I can't manage to publish these posts "on time"... That's where the #TBT comes in place! I can re-check old photos, remind myself how great it was, maybe motivate myself to go out and pay another visit, or just enjoy the memory!!
Usually, I have 2 main reasons behind publishing "these kinds" of posts...
It is too cold to go outside for a walk, but I still want to enjoy the "outdoor" experience... In those moments I pick some "summer" walk (like I did last week!) to warm myself up... π
It is too cold to go outside for a walk π, but I like to motivate myself that it is "not that cold"... Then I find photos from a walk like this one, that took place last year, in December 2023!!! It was cold, but it was sunny, and very pleasant weather for a walk...
The advantage of cold weather and winter is that the air is so clear and pure, especially in the mountains! I mean, there is no pollution up there as there are no normal roads at all or any industry nearby... What I want to say is that you can see so far in the distance as there is no "summer" humidity... If you pay attention to the photo above, you can see the sea in the distance and it is 20km far from the point where this photo is taken!
Speaking of that, I didn't say where this is... Let me share the exact location on the map...
As you can see, we were in the middle of nowhere... π
..and then you walk around, and you find a huge hole in the ground!! π± Obviously, it is artificial, as you can see by the stones from the inner side... If I remember well, this hole served as a "refrigerator" for people in the area... They would collect SNOW and store it inside it, well-covered with hay, in layers... It was a good way to preserve fresh food (especially fish), almost during the whole year!
Another look at the mountain peaks of the area... It is a wide photo on the banner, but you can recognize the small part of my photo above it!
It's amazing how roots find their way through rocks! Look at this beautiful art of nature!!
The best thing of all was that on this walk we saw maybe 2 people in total!!! And when you look at a photo like this one, you think that you are somewhere in the prairie, while we were almost 1000m above sea level...
I had more tryouts of these closeup photos, but almost none were successful... At least, I have these gorgeous red leaves for remember...
Most of these places from signs, aren't well marked... I mean, you see the names and distance, but when you get there, you don't know that you are at that spot... π But, the one above, I do know as that was one of the first places on this mountain that we visited when we came to Spain... One of our friends recommended this mountain fountain (or maybe spring is a better word) if we want to drink good, natural water... Many people are going to these springs to collect water for home use, including ourselves!
What's interesting regarding this Font de Partagat is that after a few years of going there, we found another mountain fountain for recollecting water, that was a bit closer, and a bit "lower" than this one... The point of all this is that we actually began this walk at the Font del Moli, and were hiking up toward the other one... We didn't get to it, but looking at the map, and this sign, we were somewhere in the middle of the trail... Maybe next time!
It was enough for now, we headed back to the car, this time, going much faster as we were going down the mountain... π
I hope you enjoyed this short walk in the mountains... I did, and I feel nostalgia for this place... Will have to pay another visit soon!!!
Thank you for your time,

Great shots. Happy to see that "appreciating beauty of nature" is happening here even without my contests :D

heheeh.. Thanks!
Someone has to continue your legacy!! Until you fully come back! π
I will walk everyday with this kind of scenery!
I would do the same, but it is a bit far away from my home... Especially now that I have moved to another place...
Nice photos, but it's not "in the middle of nowhere" because you have signposts everywhere ππ
Thanks!
Heheheeh... Well, they were new signs... And we looked at them, so I suppose they had sense... π Btw. Spaniards do these things... I wrote about the place where we got lost in the mountains, and it was similar to this... there were signs, but we still got lost... π€£
That is one big hole, that could hold a lot of fish to eat later, haha. I seen a big hole like this awhile ago someone shared and was used for the same purpose.
I like the looks of nature there. Trees, mountains and good sizes gravel roads to walk on. It's amazing to think the sea is over 20 miles away but that is true if the weather and conditions are right you can see miles away. Also great to basically have the place yourself π
Really? I never saw something like this... I mean, we did dig a hole to keep things colder when we went camping, but I had never seen anything like this... I mean, it's huge! π
That's the best of all! π
and in the middle of the road, a "dead end" sign π
When I saw this big hole, the first thing that occurred to me was that it was a well π
Great areas for hiking
I had a similar guess about the hole, but it looks like we were both wrong... π
Lovely photos of a lovely landscape!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Yeah, I know the drill with the Wednesdaywalk thingβ¦ as Wednesday is an officeday for me, if I even have the time and opportunity to walk, I rarely have any energy left in the evening to post, or to remember to use WednesdayWalk for it π
As for the weather and activityβ¦ yeah, itβs dark at 16:15 now, and I went outside around noon, and my balls froze off π

Indeed, our social activity reduces during the winter, thus it is good idea to create post/s from the summer travels as I do :)
Yup... And we have more time during the winter to recap things, to re-live those memories, and to sit down and write them down... π
It sounds like a nice quiet time of exploring nature for you. I walk in the mornings, but I have noticed it is a lot colder now. I am not walking as much in the mornings but make up for it later in the day.
It was very quiet up there... We tried to do a similar route during the summer, but it was way too hot... So, I suppose Spring and Autumn are ideal for that place...
That's great to hear... I got lazy and I'm barely going out at all! I do work more than usual, but I could afford more walks...
That hole in the ground looks like alien stuff. You know when KA EL from super man landed on earth and the giant pod made a huge indentation where it landed lol. Hahah.
It's good to know it's used for a different purpose than what I was initially thinking.
Seriously, I think my contents to pile up, I know we need time to create, else they'll just keep piling but I think it's better than not even having anything to post.
Hahahaah! Maybe it did land somewhere here in Spain! Will pay more attention on the streets... π
I'm not piling it up on purpose... It just happens... lol... I would like to post them while memories are fresh, but sometimes, it's impossible to do it because of other tasks, schedules, and life in general...
And regarding ideas, my DRAFTs are full of unwritten posts with different ideas and topics... So, currently, I'm not without ideas, maybe just without the time to write them down... :)
it doesn't look too cold, clean sky, lot of sun
it was a big walk but the most impressive was the big hole, never heard about something like that
Believe me, I never heard it either... I had so many ideas for what it could serve before I found out... lol... π
WoW my friend @ph1102 you publications and photographys is fantastic. Congratulations
Thank you! I'm glad that you liked it!
Wow this is such a nice place. Especially with the view overlooking the sea!
