If there's a game that started appearing in my feed more often, it was definitely Moon Karts, a game that we access via Arcade Colony, a website that, as I understand it, hosts some games.

But here, the focus will be on how to play a simple game of Moon Karts. I read some different posts and, from what I understand, we need to have the SCRIPT token staked in the game (I can't say if it's really necessary), an NFT of the kart and an NFT of the driver.

Since I'm stubborn and like to do and discover everything at the same time (I read people's posts, but I like to click on everything and find out how everything works), that's exactly what I'm doing, messing around and reading every item in the game to get to the result! 😁

COLONY and SCRIPT tokens

First, some details about where we manipulate the tokens!

Clicking on that middle item up there, we go to the COLONY token operations page. I already had some tokens staked, so it turned out that I didn't pay enough attention to the game, but I had already taken a look. (Image below)

Clicking on the item on the far right, we have the operations page for the SCRIPT token, in which I already have 1 or so in stake. I will buy 3 more SCRIPT in the L2 wallet and then transfer them into the Arcade Colony. (Image below)

So, to get 3 SCRIPT, for the lowest price, I should pay something around 6 Hive! Without further ado, let's make the purchase!

After purchasing the tokens, returning to the SCRIPT token operations page, I clicked on the “Transfer” option at the top, selected the number of tokens manually, selected the “Hive Engine” option and then clicked on “Transfer In”, confirmed the transaction through the Keychain extension and that's it!

Improvements for this part:

• I had to type the number 3 in the part referring to the token quantity. If the site already knows that I have 3 tokens in the Hive Engine, it could enable one click to place the maximum number of tokens, as we already see in many other places, one click and it already fills the corresponding field with the total amount.

• After the transfer, this form has 3 tokens in “IN-GAME” and 3 in “HIVE ENGINE”, I believe it is possible to put a “Soft Refresh” in this part to update only these values.

CREDITS and buying the first NFTs

Now, let's focus on the first item at the top of the site! From what I've read in other posts, using this "in-game" token would be the best way to buy the NFTs, which I've already confirmed are the kart and the driver.

So, I'm going to put $3 in credits to make these purchases and see if I need to buy anything else. Just like in Splinterlands, I'm familiar with 1,000 credits being worth the same as $1.

I typed 3000 credits, so that will be $3 as previously stated. The cool thing here is that we have some options, like paying with Hive Keychain which will be some types of tokens, PayPal and Coinbase Commerce. I went to Hive Keychain:

On the left, it shows that we have the following tokens that we can use to make the purchase and on the right it only shows that I chose to use the Hive token. Here I missed having the direct option for HBD, I believe that many of the Hive games allow you to choose between Hive and HBD, so one point of improvement here.

After confirming my purchase via Keychain, I waited a bit and then the credits were credited to the game. Remember that the Hive token here is the one that is in the main layer, that is, the Hive that you see there in your wallet in PEAKD, Ecency or Inleo.

Since I don't know exactly what I need to buy or what I should do, I saw that there are many items in the market. I believe that we can buy more items to put on our kart and thus improve its attributes. At the time of purchase, I missed a tab or something like that to show the status of the items, like Splinterlands has, for example, so that I can compare the cards.

Anyway, I tried to get the best possible items and with the lowest price of $1, so I found LUNOCITYX for 99 cents, a rare and regular card.

For the pilot, I found the aurora, being a common and golden card. Following the Splinterlands model, we have this concept of regular and golden in the cards. Well, let's see what happens now, shall we?

From what I understand, we can save up to 4 card configurations. So, down there, there are Karts and Drivers, I believe that there I will choose my cards that I recently bought and so, the Power Ups and Tech Cards are the other types of cards that I can select. That's pretty interesting.

The game is made in Unity and WebGL, I found the graphics really cool. Since I'm on my laptop and have some things open here, I preferred to leave the graphics on medium. In the image below it is in fullscreen, the game gives this possibility so we can have a better view of everything.

Conclusion

Well, in single player mode, from what I saw, I run alone, without bots and I even liked what I saw at the moment. The game is flowing and very beautiful. Everything is very simple, but functional. In this single player mode, I believe there is no reward, so it's more like training.

I know I only have a rare kart and a common driver, but I had a lot of difficulty making the turns in the race, I practically drove more hitting the sides than driving in the middle of the track, but that could also just be a lack of practice.

I'm not going to enter Multiplayer mode at the moment, because from what I've seen, it seems that I need to stake cards to generate gas and in each race in this mode I will consume X amount of gas to do so, so that's for next time!

Como sou teimoso e gosto de fazer e descobrir tudo ao mesmo tempo (leio as postagens das pessoas, mas gosto de clicar em tudo e descobrir como tudo funciona), é exatamente isso que estou fazendo, mexendo e lendo cada item do jogo para chegar ao resultado! 😁

Tokens COLONY e SCRIPT

Primeiro, alguns detalhes sobre onde manipulamos os tokens!

Clicando naquele item do meio ali em cima, vamos para a página de operações do token COLONY. Eu já tinha alguns tokens em stake, então acabou que não dei a devida atenção ao jogo, mas já tinha dado uma olhada. (Imagem abaixo)

Clicando no item mais à direita, temos a página de operações do token SCRIPT, no qual já tenho 1 e pouco em stake. Irei comprar mais 3 SCRIPT na carteira L2 e assim transferir para dentro do Arcade Colony. (Imagem abaixo)

Então, para conseguir 3 SCRIPT, pelo menor valor, devo desembolsar algo em torno de 6 Hive! Sem mais enrolação, vamos efetivar a compra!

Após comprar os tokens, voltando para a página de operações do token SCRIPT, clico na opção “Transfer” na parte de cima, selecionei o número de tokens manualmente, selecionei a opção “Hive Engine” e depois cliquei em “Transfer In”, confirmo a transação pela extensão da Keychain e pronto!

Pontos de melhoria dessa parte:

Agora, vamos focar no primeiro item na parte de cima do site! Pelo que li em outras postagens, usar esse token “in-game” seria o melhor para comprar os NFTs, que reforçando até o momento sei que são o kart e o piloto.

Então, vou colocar $3 em créditos para realizar essas compras e ver se preciso comprar alguma outra coisa. Assim como no Splinterlands, me familiarizei com 1.000 créditos ter o mesmo valor que $1.

Digitei 3000 créditos, então com isso serão $3 como dito anteriormente. O bacana aqui é que temos algumas opções, como pagar com Hive Keychain que serão alguns tipos de tokens, PayPal e Coinbase Commerce. Fui em Hive Keychain:

Após confirmar a minha compra pela Keychain, aguardei um pouco e assim os créditos caíram no jogo. Lembrando que aqui o token Hive é o que fica na camada principal, ou seja, o Hive que você vê ali na sua carteira no PEAKD, Ecency ou Inleo.

Como não sei bem o que preciso comprar ou o que devo fazer, vi que no mercado há muitos itens. Acredito que podemos comprar mais itens para ir colocando em nosso kart e assim ir melhorando seus atributos. Neste momento de compra, senti falta de uma aba ou algo assim para mostrar os tatus dos itens, assim como o Splinterlands tem, por exemplo, para eu poder comparar as cartas.

De qualquer forma, tentei pegar os melhores itens possíveis e com o preço menor de $1, então achei o LUNOCITYX por 99 cents, uma carta rara e regular.

Para o piloto, encontrei a aurora, sendo uma carta comum e dourada. Seguindo os moldes do Splinterlands, temos esse conceito de regular e dourada nas cartas. Bem, vamos ver o que acontece agora, não é?

Primeiro, voltei para a página inicial e cliquei no Moon Karts:

E agora a tela inicial do jogo. Bem, aqui percebi que tem muitas opções, mas não vou entrar em muitos detalhes para a postagem não ficar maior do que já está. Vamos tentar somente correr a primeira corrida. Vou em Single Player!

Pelo que entendi, podemos salvar até 4 configurações de cartas. Então, lá embaixo, tem Karts e Drivers, acredito que ali vou escolher minhas cartas que comprei há pouco e assim, os Power Ups e Tech Cards são os outros tipos de cartas que posso selecionar. Bem interessante isso.

O jogo é feito em Unity e WebGL, achei o gráfico bem legal. Como estou no meu notebook e tenho algumas coisas abertas aqui, preferi deixar o gráfico no médio. Nessa imagem abaixo está em fullscreen, o jogo dá essa possibilidade para podermos ter uma visão melhor de tudo.

Conclusão

Bem, no modo single player pelo que vi, corro sozinho, sem bots e até gostei do que vi no momento. O jogo está fluindo e bem bonito. Tudo bem simples, mas funcional. Neste modo de jogador único, acredito que não existe recompensa, então fica sendo mais um treino mesmo.

Sei que estou com somente um kart raro e um piloto comum, mas senti muita dificuldade em realizar as curvas na corrida, eu praticamente pilotei mais batendo nas laterais do que pilotando no meio da pista, mas, isso também pode ser somente a falta de prática.

Não vou entrar no modo Multiplayer no momento, até porque, pelo que vi, parece que preciso colocar cartas em stake para gerar gasolina e a cada corrida neste modo irei consumir X gasolina para isso, então fica para a próxima!

Por hoje é isso pessoal! Descobrindo como as coisas funcionam no Moon Karts! O token SCRIPT parece que tem algo a ver com a gasolina, então realmente precisa dele para jogar o modo Multiplayer que deve ser a “ranqueada” do MK.
