Hello, beautiful people! Welcome to my blog. It's a pleasure to have you in this space. Once again, welcome π€
A few days ago, my husband called me and sat me down. He said he had been noticing my mood for quite some time now and that I didn't seem like myself; it's as if something was eating me up. At first, I tried to brush it off and told him it was nothing and I was fine. But he insisted on knowing what was going on. So, I opened up to him about how things aren't going the way I had planned. I told him that this isn't the life I envisioned for myself. It's like my age keeps increasing, but every other aspect of my life remains stagnant. I went on to list all the things I wasn't okay with in my life. He let me talk to my heart's content, allowing me to express all my frustrations and disappointments.
When I was done talking, he said he understood my feelings and what I was going through. But he also told me that things aren't as bad as I was seeing them. He went on to list different reasons why I should be grateful, even though some things aren't going exactly as planned. After he was done talking to me, it was like a veil had lifted off my face. I began to see what was right in front of me, things I really should be grateful for, things that a lot of people would die to have. It was like those words he said to me made me have a shift in my perspective, and I started appreciating the things I had rather than focusing on what wasn't going according to my plans.
Here are the three things I am grateful for
I am grateful for my family: my kids, husband, siblings, parents, cousins, and in-laws. I have a loving and supportive family. I used to think that every family was loving and supportive until I started seeing and hearing about families where members don't get to see eye to eye. Some family members tear down each other, while some don't help one another. But in my family, even though I'm the first child, I can call on my younger siblings for help when I am in need. If they have it at that moment, they will help me. And it's beyond financial help; they have supported me emotionally, physically, and even spiritually when I needed it. I don't take this for granted.
I am also grateful for good health and life. A few months ago, my son was seriously sick, and we almost spent a month in the hospital. Even now, we still go for weekly check-ups and physiotherapy. While we were in the pediatric ward, it was a sobering and scary experience. There wasn't a day that a child didn't die. Some days, two or three kids would pass away. It was a tough thing to witness. I am grateful that my son came out alive and is healthy now. Staying in the hospital made me appreciate life and good health in a way I hadn't before. I saw how some people were hopeless and didn't know what to do. I saw how doctors would tell some families that there's nothing they could do. I saw how some had money, but their health issues couldn't be fixed. And I saw how some needed money to fix their health problems but had no help. I am grateful that I am doing well, I am alive, and every organ in my body is functioning well.
I'm grateful for growth, and I am grateful that I am not in the same place I used to be and I am not the same person I used to be. My perspective and mindset have undergone significant changes. I now see things differently, and I have become more understanding and accommodating.
Having a heart of gratitude opens you up to abundance and more opportunities. When you're grateful for what you have and for the growth you've experienced, it shifts your focus to the positives in life. This mindset can attract more blessings, opportunities, and positivity into your life.

You see hat part where you said "I'm not where I used to be" is very powerful. I have come to thank God because I am not where or how I was in the past. I am a better version of myself and that to me is growth.

Thank you
In every situation we just need to be grateful because there are people who are not privilege to witness or find themselves in the level you are in life.

I'm happy your son is well now and healthy.
It's very easy to focus on the things we haven't accomplished and be sad sometimes, but focusing on the things going great for us is a game-changer. It's awesome that your husband helps you to focus on the positive side.
