Note To Self - Reflections For Yesterday

Dear Past self,

I am not where we want to be, but rest assured that we are in a better place. No, we don't have the Lambo yet. We also do not have the dream house by the Ocean, but we are happy and content, and I bet I could say that we are almost successful sailors, navigating the treacherous sea called life.

That I am content does not mean the fire stopped burning, no, never! Not at all, for I am still pushing and looking for opportunities that will catapult us to where we want to be.

The good news is that we are no longer at the bottom, we are not dependent, and yes, I'm still following through with the plans that you laid down for us a decade ago. Honestly, I wouldn't be where I am today if you hadn't made those life-changing decisions.

I understand that back then, it was difficult and I looked back to those dark nights and wondered how you managed to keep sane. Sometimes, when the going gets really tough and overwhelming, I take a trip down memory lane to those times you went through the worst but remained unbroken, unbowed and unashamed.

It will interest you to know that I draw strength from those times; I draw strength from you because it seems that time steals our doggedness, as I'm not as tenacious as you used to be. Now I turn a blind eye to certain things and keep my lips sealed in some situations where your voice would have been loudest.

Yes, I am still ambitious and determined; the fire still burns, like I said earlier, but it's not to make us hot-headed.

Ok, this will make you laugh, but I am now diplomatic and now resolved to a more refined plus tactical way of resolving conflicts.

Yes, we did lose friends on the way. The cycle is quite smaller now, but I tell you, it's more valuable because in it are people who would take a bullet for us, people who love us genuinely and most importantly, people who are seriously rooting for us to win.

I have no regret thus far, as you did an amazing job in decision-making. Like I rightly said to you earlier, growing up to become a smart woman brought us this far, and I appreciate you wholeheartedly.

You have set the standard so high, and I promise to uphold it and never disappoint you.

Best Regards,

Present ❤️.

Absolutely, we cannot progress until we see the real faces of people with our own eyes. When the reality of people comes before us, then we strengthen ourselves and start working hard day and night.

Losing friends is actually part of growing up, friends we thought we would not spend a day without seeing them we don't even talk to them anymore.

WOW! That is the good news. We are no longer at the bottom, but we are moving forward and we know we will soon get there. I am motivated by the later to your younger self. At least all hope is not lost.
Thanks for sharing
