McDonald's ist nicht sehr populär in Bulgarien. Fünf Gründe, warum das so ist.
Erstens ist McDonald's nicht sehr günstig. Wenn man sich McDonald's leisten kann, könnte man auch ein Mittagsmenü in einem günstigen Restaurant essen.
Zweitens ist die bulgarische Küche extrem gut, in den Restaurants und auch zu Hause wird noch viel selber gekocht, weniger auf teure und ungesunde Tiefkühlprodukte gesetzt.
Drittens wollen Touristen und Einheimische, die sich einen Urlaub am Meer leisten können, in der Regel hochwertigeres Essen konsumieren, nicht Fast Food.
Viertens, die jüngere Zielgruppe von McDonald's ist in der Zwischenzeit von Bulgarien ausgewandert. Alternde Gesellschaft. Eine amerikanische Fast-Food-Kette ist bei den älteren Bulgaren auch nicht sonderlich beliebt.
Und Fünftens gibt es in Bulgarien eine große Konkurrenz an Fast Food. Kebap, Pizza und die finnische Hesburger-Kette ist ebenfalls in Bulgarien weiter verbreitet als McDonald's.

McDonald's is not very popular in Bulgaria. Here are five reasons why.
Firstly, McDonald's is not very cheap. If you can afford McDonald's, you could also eat a lunch menu in a cheap restaurant.
Secondly, Bulgarian cuisine is extremely good, in the restaurants and also at home people still cook a lot themselves and rely less on expensive and unhealthy frozen products.
Thirdly, tourists and locals who can afford a vacation by the sea generally want to eat high-quality food, not fast food.
Fourthly, McDonald's younger target group has since emigrated from Bulgaria. Ageing society. An American fast food chain is not particularly popular with older Bulgarians either.
And fifthly, there is a lot of competition for fast food in Bulgaria. Kebab, pizza and the Finnish Hesburger chain are also more popular in Bulgaria than McDonald's.

Der McDoof in Serbien (Subotica) war eigentlich immer gut besucht wenn ich mal da war, aber ist schon laaange her.
Aber das war dann auch nur 1x pro Urlaub, esse ja lieber den Burek vom Bäcker ;)
Aber in der Tat war der im Vergleich auch eher teuer.
Yeah, you're right! For examlpe, here in Varna, there was McDonald's in downtown next to hotel "Cherno more" ("Black sea"). It took a blow during the "pandemic", and for some time it was empty place. Now there is a bank office. Other than that - I have never been a client to McDonald's... until one day, several years ago in Germany me and some of my relatives, who live there, we had a meal in the McDonald's. It was a very unpleasant experience for me - the food was awfull and crapy. So I wuold never ever be their client again.
Also remember the McDonalds in Varna, Bulgarian food is just too good, no comparison to fast food.
Passt eh dass er ein wenig konkurrenz hat und nicht überall der Platzhirsch ist. War selbst auch schon ewig nicht mehr. Preise mittlereweile für Pommes und Chicken MC nuggets einfach eine Frechheit. Burger hab ich sowieso noch nie gerne bei MCi gegessen sondern in einem Burger Local bei mir um die Ecke.
Sehr gut dass McD und all die anderen FF-Ketten in Bulgarien nicht so gut ankommen. Das was die servieren hat nichts mit Nährstoffen zu tun.
McDonald's is expensive here as well. I have kind of moved away from fastfood because of the costs. It has gotten a lot more expensive and it doesn't seem cheap anymore. As it is now, I see better healthier and tasty alternatives for a similar price. I don't know about the Balkan or Eastern countries.
McDonald's food won't be so popular in the East, why pay so much for something that people don't like.
People are getting down to fresh and healthier foods which is also pocket friendly, so why pay more for less quality?

Interessant. Denke die Preise sind der Hauptgrund. Da hat McD in den letzten 1-2 Jahren ordentlich gedreht. Hat auch auf anderen Märkten zu Rückgängigen Umsätzen geführt. Jetzt steuert man mit Budget Meals gegen. In USA zB 5$ Menu.
$5 Menü wäre wirklich sehr günstig für ein McMenü, denke dass Restaurants in den USA auch viel teurer sind verglichen mit Fast Food, wenn der Unterschied zu Restaurants aber nicht mehr so groß ist, passt das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis nicht mehr. Mäci-Preise werden auch bei uns ständig angehoben.

Eigentlich bin ich von Deutschland. Dort lebt fast meine ganze Familie. Seit fast 6 Jahren lebe ich nun in Mexico. In Mexico sprechen die meisten nur Spanisch oder Englisch, deswegen finde ich es immer schön, wenn ich Leute wie du auf Hive finde die auch Deutsch reden. Ich bin in München und Florida aufgewachsen. (Ich bin aber erst 13 Jahre,habe noch ein paar Jahre bis zur Volljährigkeit). 😉

I have cut down on fast foods a lot because of the high content of salt, sugar and cholesterol because of my age. I go for wholesome foods and people are thinking like me, they would seriously ignore McDonald's kind of food.
