No modelo atual eu consigo jogar no Gold 1 apenas cumprindo 2 requisitos:
200K Power.
2.500 Rating.

On Splinterlands discord there was a lot of talk after the Townhall that among the various issues presented, one them got a lot of attention: the SPS Staking. Everyone already knew that eventually the Power requirements for leagues would be changed to SPS Stake but today new information was revealed that caused a lot of confusion among players. Taking advantage of this issue that addresses extremely important aspects of Splinterlands' Tokenomics I decided to make an analysis about everything that is happening and give my opinion about it, remembering that I am no master of tokenomics and everything mentioned here will be based only on MY opinion.
There are still some points that left me in doubt and maybe I will say something wrong, but in summary the SPS will not be a limiter to define your maximum league as it currently happens with Power, it will only define the amount of rewards you will receive. The higher your league and rating higher the SPS requirements to keep your rewards at maximum. They have published a table with some SPS values required on average for each league.
This is where many players ended up getting outraged, let's take Gold 1 which is the league I play in as an example. Currently you need to possess 200k Power to reach that league and according to this table you will need to possess on average 58,304.72 SPS in Stake to receive rewards properly. At today's prices this would cost approximately $1,250, let's face it the SPS price is at one of lowest levels since 2021 and even then it's a pretty hefty amount just to be able to receive the maximum Gold 1 rewards.
The Splinterlands team has made it clear that these amounts will not be mandatory to play but just the fact that they affect rewards already raises the question of whether or not the game will become less profitable to players. Let's try to look deeper into these possibilities.
In the current model I can play in Gold 1 only by meeting 2 requirements:
200K Power.
2.500 Rating.
But to gain at gold 1 there is another requirement that needs to be met:
The Cards Level needs to be close to or equal to league requirements.
So to gain good rewards and to be able to battle properly in this league it is totally indicated to have several cards with level compatible to your league. I can get them by rental or buying and besides being able to be used in battle they will already fulfill a good part of the Power requirement mentioned above. You will notice that in this case, although the Power is mandatory, a good part of your expenses will already earn you power and you will only need to complete the amount that was missing to reach your desired league.
Now let's look at it from the new perspective. There is 1 requirement to play in Gold 1:
2,500 Rating.
But to gain at gold 1 you need to meet two other requirements:
The Cards Level needs to be close to or equal to league requirements.
You need to have SPS in stake as close as possible to the value mentioned in the table to earn the most rewards.
Most likely you will still keep almost all of your expenses in renting or buying cards to be able to compete properly in this league AND you will need to invest in an absurd amount of SPS if you want to receive rewards in your gameplay. We will still need to find out how these multipliers will work, how the SPS will impact the reward calculation and many other important pieces of information that have not been revealed (so everything mentioned now is just speculation) but the fact is that many players who do not have the capital or desire to invest in the SPS will be left out of Splinterlands.
If SPS is a major reducer in the amount of rewards earned to the point where the player receives nothing if they do not have SPS in stake Splinterlands will cease to be a Play2Earn game to become Buy2Earn after all you will need to be an investor in the game to win. This could be a big shot in the foot that will drive away the rest of the real players who don't have that kind of money to invest and will be left only whales fighting with their numerous bots, that would be the end of Splinterlands.
That was the pessimistic view on the matter but there are other strands that can be looked at. Imagine what Splinterlands would be for us mere mortals if the card rental market did not exist. The whole situation mentioned above is precisely about a world where there is no SPS rental market and if this market really does not exist then I strongly believe that this is a very bad decision for the game health, but it has already been confirmed that it will be possible to delegate SPS and based on this will probably be created a SPS rental market that can generate a new economic system within Splinterlands where players who need SPS for rewards will pay X amount (below their profits obviously) and those who hold large amounts of SPS in stake will rent them to other players in exchange for a higher return than keeping them.
It is hard to know how exactly it will work but let's speculate. Let's say our great friend @Azircon decides to delegate 60,000 SPS to me so that I can play in Gold 1. Currently this stake is earning 21.28% APR but in exchange for the delegation I will pay all the income generated + 15% of my rewards (fictional values), so I can battle on Gold 1 getting as many rewards as possible and Azircon will receive the income from his stake plus an extra profit. Of course it won't happen this rudimentary way and if it is as I'm thinking there will soon be smart contracts to make all this possible.
What I mean is that market usually self-regulate and possibly an economy involving SPS is created aiming to generate benefits for investors and players. If this is built properly the SPS may finally find a proper Product Market Fit, gaining usability and various incentives to be hold. If you look at it from this optimistic perspective, there are a lot of positives that begin to emerge with these changes, as well as the fact that accounts that do not adapt to the new model will receive less rewards, so players who invest in SPS or receive delegations will be able to increase their rewards when battling daily in Splinterlands.
There are still many details that need to be revealed and I believe that only after implementation will we effectively find out if this new system will work or not. Personally I hope that this change will be positive in the long term despite the confusion that will occur in the short term. Making SPS useful and creating a profitable new economy for players and investors might be the perfect way to do this. What are your opinions about this big SPS controversy?
Thank you so much to everyone who read this far, I hope you enjoyed it. If you like my content, I ask you to send your vote on the post and follow my profile so you can read future posts.
Play to earn subject is long gone from here, I see arguments about how people have gotten sps for free in the past or how sps is worth 0.02 and is now cheap to get, but hello, what about people who just started playing and didn’t get airdrop or people who don’t have $1k+ to invest. Yet I understand that SPS has to be tied to some form of utility, I’m not just sure how this will pan out in effect for everyone
It's still too early to know if these changes will really make the game prohibitive for players who don't make big investments, all that's left is to wait for new information.
Wow! I have been crawling hard to reach 200k CP for 1 year and 9 months to be able to play at Gold I only after reaching the stage that I only lack 5k cp, then this change happened. If this is the case, I will be stuck forever in Silver II.
If this will happen, though I will be sad, I hope that those with huge voting votes or whoever made this change will learn their lesson.
I am more worried about the card prices as an impact of this as many players who used to play at the higher leagues will not find the incentive to play at higher leagues rather settle for lower leagues with low level cards and there will be a selling pressure on cards. I personally invested around $3k on cards which is valued at $1.7k currently.
People keep saying that this is a great time to invest more in the game but honestly speaking I can not afford to invest any further and not even very optimistic that my deck will regain it's original value.

The rewards earned on this comment will go directly to the people ( alokkumar121, lincemarrom ) sharing the post on LeoThreads,LikeTu,dBuzz.
Most of the “controversy” is around people who just want to extract value. I will offer something, I think it was mentioned today somewhere
So people sold SPS for $1, $0.90…. $0.50, $0.30… $0.03 and now you are asked to purchase at $0.02, only if you choose. And you complain? And you expect I will have sympathy?
😂
I started the post with the negative side precisely to overlap with the positive afterwards. It's strange to think that investing in Splinterlands is so bad when it will possibly create an extremely busy and advantageous market for investors and players involving SPS.
I didn't buy SPS in 2021 because I was totally broke hahaha but now I'm having a golden opportunity to buy at 0.02$ at a time when SPS already has much more utility compared to the past.
What of the people who bought SPS at $0.80 and $0.50 and when CL came out the value had dropped even further, but they still bought the max number of CL packs they could afford with their SPS?
I have directed my recent efforts into levelling GF cards to get better drops, now it's nerfed by having to own staked SPS. Every time I start to make progress the rules are changed.
I don't need sympathy, I need a game that is 'play to earn' for everyone and not geared just for the whales.

Lots of sparks flying on this one but honestly it makes sense to me. You earn these SPS rewards right now in so many ways that you're really not telling anyone to go out and buy them. Instead just hold on to what you're playing for and because you're a player you get a vote on how the games future will be. A win-win IMO.
I also like the fact that those are just base lines. I've been seriously struggling and getting crap rewards lately to the point of where I almost stopped playing this season and would instead just rent everything about. I'm curious if others have had that feeling as of late with how hard it's been to rank up and because of that the lackluster rewards.

I'm also having the 2 issues you mentioned. The matches are extremely difficult and it's been 3 seasons that I haven't been able to go up to the diamond (to increase the level of the season chests), in addition the rewards are coming very weak.
About the SPS all we have left is to speculate because it could really be a horrible decision for the game or be a watershed, it all depends on how it is implemented, intensity and etc.
I could relate to this experience. If not for Brawls, I am also thinking if there is really a point in playing the game with crypto incentives in mind. Or perhaps, the game is just a temporary cure for boredom and having a moment of fun.

I think a compromise will eventually be found in this dispute.
Basically I like the change because it could also limit the use of bots.
I think it will be necessary to create a market for SPS token delegations before implementing this change.
With this change I also think that cards that are of little use in battle will drop in value a lot.

I think the SPS requirements for the leagues are a bit too high. I have a feeling it benefits the whales a bit too much and it's starting to give me a few vibes about how Axie ended up later in those posts that I read. At some point, the people up top just decided to delegate out their cards and the people renting/using the cards ended up becoming their free labor. The question is whether or not it's worth the investment for the users or not. I do think it will kill off most of the bots though.

It's like a subject sitting on an injured person and every time the injured person reacts, the subject sitting on top of the wounded person stabs him.
I have little time, but I have been seeing a series of decisions that increasingly encourage me not to invest so much in the game.
It's like a bottomless pit that gets bigger every time.
Spend your money, and we won't leave you profit, just spend more and more.
I hope I'm wrong, as there are free games and other NFT games, where you don't have to pay more and more to get rewards.
I like the game, I want it to be attractive, why are they trying to destroy it more and more?
You can't milk the cow to death, you have to give it food from time to time.
Good info.
I have some other stuff to consider:
Posted using Splintertalk
SPS are hard to earn these days. Yes, it is great that they make it now as the main token in the game, but I think it is too difficult for the player to earn SPS nowadays
Posted using Splintertalk
I also think the numbers are too high, the game is also getting prohibitively hard, cannot reach Diamond any more, bots are getting stronger and stronger with every upgrade. It feels like all the easy bots have left the battlefield and now only automated accounts remain, that are super hard to beat.
Look dude, I love splinterlands honestly, but with this update coming it will be a hard hit to my pocket, it has definitely brought my spirits down.
The more I get into the game the more I see how it becomes a buytoearn and stops being a play2earn. I think this is the direction it is going and if so many players will be hurt. To give you a simple example, not even the new players stay, it is not sustainable for them, they must invest a lot to be competitive and get rewards, now they will have to invest much more, it is not only sps, also cards (the normal) but they have taken away its usefulness.
I will wait to see if I can buy a Yodin in 5$ for collection 😅
