In a practically 100% digital world, we must always be careful with the most diverse types of fraud and scams that exist, because, believe me, they can come from anywhere. If before, when smartphones didn't even exist, cell phones that only made calls and received SMS were already used to carry out scams, just like landlines. Imagine how as technology evolves, people who use their evils also follow this evolution and prepare more and more new ways to try to apply scams and fraud.

As a way of sharing with you, fraudsters try in countless ways to deceive us and steal our precious and hard-earned money that we have in our possession, or sometimes, our personal information such as logins and passwords, which can be even worse. The examples I have, in which people have tried to make a fool of me and carry out a scam, are very diverse and span the eras of technology. As said in the first paragraph of this text, at that time the landline telephone was still widely used, the one that was in your house and on which you needed to use the telephone line to access the internet on the weekends, yes, I'm from that time and they already tried give me a blow precisely for him.

At that time, as a teenager without much experience and without yet fully understanding things, which makes everything more dangerous, they called my house and I answered and so began the attempt to carry out a scam. They are smart and ask questions to get you to deliver vital information to them. When answering the phone, the criminal began:

-- Hello, who's speaking?
-- I'm Yan Patrick, who's speaking?
-- An accident happened to your cousin here.
-- Like this? What happened to my cousin "so and so"?
-- That's right, it was with "so and so", an accident happened to him here and we need you to buy prepaid phone credits and give us the codes so we can keep in touch with you.
-- OK, just a moment.

After that, despite having still left the phone off the hook and the crazy person on the line, I spoke to my mother (at that time I lived with her) and luckily she was already aware of these things and explained to me that it was a way of blow, because at that time cell phones were starting to expand, even though we don't remember exactly the time, we had the famous square cell phones that operated on prepaid, in case you don't know, it was the way to put credits in order to make calls and send SMS, so you had cards for 10, 15, 25 reais (R$) and you put them on your cell phone so you could use it, when the credit ran out, you were left doing nothing on your cell phone.

After my mother explained about this scam, she had a cell phone and managed to contact my cousin, who confirmed that everything was fine, so I picked up the landline and put it on the hook again and thank God, I never had to go through it again. this type of situation. So, as the years go by and technology evolves, we now have new nasty methods from people who have nothing to do and try at all costs to outsmart good-hearted people who often don't even understand how these scams work.

And if there were already some ways back then, today we are not free from the attempts, notice that a fake profile always appears trying to send some message or strange thing for us to click on and thus possibly lose everything. I often receive friend requests on Facebook, followers on Instagram or even on Discord, which is heavily geared towards scam attempts in relation to cryptocurrencies, at least in my case it is like that, perhaps due to the number of crypto servers I participate in, But, whether you like it or not, a profile always appears with absurd information, trying everything to get you to click somewhere.

With all this, the tip I can give is to be careful with anything and everything that offers absurd advantages and never click on anything they ask for, if you click, that's it! Because these scammers underestimate the intelligence of their victims, that's why they always provide information without the slightest coherence, so that the advantages offered leave the person inclined to want this easy gain and in this, they end up hesitating and handing over their valuable information to the fraudsters. We must always pay close attention to everything, as this danger of scams and fraud can happen to any of us, if we do not remain vigilant.

Thank you very much to everyone who donated a little of their time to read. Until next time guys!

Woah...imagine at that time when things aren't so evolved as they are now. That means the rate of scam in this recent time is way too much. At least you had ypur mum to confide to and she told you everything.

What if she wasn't around at that time when the fraudster called what would have happened?

0E-8 BEE

Some of us that fell victim because we didn't know any better, though we're a "fraudster wiser" now as it'll take a while before we fall victim ever again. I verify everything before I take a next step in anything digital these days

My mother was the one who explained to me that it was a scam, they have a very strong lip, they convince you that the thing they are talking about is really happening.

My luck is that even if she hadn't been there, I wouldn't have been able to do anything, I was a teenager of about 13 or 14 years old, with no money or anything, so I wouldn't have been able to pay for the cards, but I would definitely be terrified because I couldn't say if it's true or not.

These cellphone scams are of the worst,. I got scammed and also my sister got scammed 60k pkr. They influence her that much she gave her all bank details, otp codes. After getting scammed she called me and told me about the incident. But there was nothing i could do to prevent this scam.i called the bank, we even visited it but all in vein.

They have an unbelievable power to persuade, if they used it for good, they would easily have a guaranteed job. The way they say things conquers us and we become hostage to what they say. I'm sorry for your loss, but here's some learning so that next time they won't be so lucky.

Everything revolves around money... So sad

0E-8 BEE

It's complicated that there are still bad people like this, who take advantage of older people who don't understand so much about technology and are an easy target. Although even we can still fall, because every moment they create new mechanisms to try to deceive us.
