Remote Work Isn’t Going Anywhere

Well, for me I would say I don't see remote job going anywhere. It now seems to be the new, erm... The new. I remember a friend telling me recently that she just secured another job, she's working before, an on-site job, then again she told me she just landed another one, but this is one she can do from the comfort of anywhere. Meaning, she can be doing her normal office work while still doing the new remote work she just got. Best part is, this remote work is even a government paid job, like I was wowed.

What I'm saying in essence is that, a lot of things has changed and remote jobs are now everywhere now. A friend of mine is taking some students online classes, just thrice in a week and the pay is almost triple what he's earning as a teacher in a public school. Like, can you just see the difference. Not every remote work needs you to be physically present. He teaches online 3 times in a week and each day is just like 2 to 3 hours each, yet he's earning much more than the teaching job he's going to from Monday to Friday.

I as a person love remote works. Something I can just do from the comfort of my home, in my own space. You know, you won't have to bother about traffic, tfares, and all of that. That freedom means a lot to some of us. I know some actually prefer on-site jobs though.

Also, I understand that to some extent working remotely can be at times more competitive than on-site jobs. You know a lot of people really want to work from home, also companies that want to hire to can be very selective by considering various options. Even still, I don't think remote works will disappear.

One of the reasons why I'm saying this is because, the world keep advancing, and we all try to advance with it and improve. And I don't think any one, company or organization as well we want to stay at a spot or go backwards. Meaning, companies now know that all of their staffs don't actually need to work in a building with them. Meetings can be held on zoom or Google meet. Different people in different locations can do their tasks, submit, compare and all without having to meet physically.

So, working from home ain't going anywhere. It will continue to remain relevant. We're the ones who need to keep improving ourselves so we won't miss out on various opportunities. I feel we should even be more concerned about the decline in working or doing on-site jobs. The rate at which companies are now laying off staffs is alarming.

I'm not saying that offices and such will disappear, no. There will still be Jobs that will need physical presence, an office and people in attendance. I'm just saying both will exist together, just that this remote work of a thing has the tendency of getting a higher percentage in the long run.

Like I said earlier, I love remote works and I will choose it over an on-site job.... Unless if the pay is you know.... 🫣
