Hello learners
This week's prompt on money and hygiene is an interesting one.
In the world we live now, Money begets 95% of things, money is the solution to most problems, it is the medicine for depression, the cure for hunger, the solution for freshness and a sophisticated lifestyle, and a life without money is hell.
Everything is pricy now; one needs money to maintain better hygiene. The rich have access to things that make it easier for them to stay healthy and take proper care of themselves.
When you see a lady looking classy and sophisticated, you should know she is spending so well on herself to look that good, and it is not cheap! Ladies' skin care now costs a fortune.
My cousin visited me 2 years ago, she was looking so fresh and yellow, people were just staring at her, it was during our conversation she picked her phone to order soap online and after she was done with the call, we started gisting about her skin care and she mentioned the soap she just ordered for was 20 000 Naira, I was like what!
If just the soap costs 20,000 Naira, imagine how much the other stuff will cost, but the good part is that it is showing on her; her body is fresh and glowing.
Most ladies spend a fortune on skin care, and the body also needs good food, which also requires money. You can't compare someone who eats a balanced diet with someone who is always drinking Garri morning, afternoon, and night; you will notice the difference in their bodies.
It is hard to keep up with cleanliness without money, neatness requires being able to afford basic things that makes it easier to maintain a healthy lifestyle, a good example is the kitchen, money is needed to fix the kitchen cabinet where things can be kept which makes the kichen tidy, money is needed to also buy a wardrobe where we can keep our clothes and other things that can make our room disorganize if they are not kept in the proper place.
Money is needed for clean water; our environment also matters. A huge amount is needed to rent an apartment in a good environment. The environment we stay in has a role to play in our hygiene and cleanliness. There is always a difference between living in a ghetto or i I-face-me-I-face-you house and staying in posh areas.
Even a lazy person can be a neat freak if he or she has money, too lazy to wash clothes by hand, but with a washing machine, you won't see it as work, and you can change your clothes many times in a day without worrying about how to wash them...

Speaking about hygiene, life depends on it more. The whole universe would have been in turmoil if we had remained unhygienic. Today, humanity can proudly say that it has overcome some of the life threatening cases of disease breakout, many thanks to cleanliness.
Like it is often said:
Indeed, health is wealth, but wealth helps to improve our health.
I quite disagree. What I mean is, your points quite buttress maintenance and looking good and not merely staying hygienic as the prompt asks.
Yes, money is necessary to buy good skincare, afford certain amenities and buy good clothing that elevate one's look. However, one doesn't necessarily need money before they can tidy their space and bathe regularly and groom themselves.
Even with skincare, you can buy all the most expensive products but if you don't bathe often, stay hydrated, change your bedding often, etc, your effort may just prove counterproductive.
I hope this makes sense though.
Money BEGETS HYGIENE
Is a person's level of cleanliness dependent on how much they earn? How much influence does money have on how neat or hygienic a person can be? From the appearance, environment, and habits, can neatness exist independent of wealth?
As the prompt ask? Did you read the part that asks about the influence of money on how neat and hygienic someone can be?
Ok so let me break down your point even though I mentioned it in the post already
one doesn't necessarily need money before they can tidy their space
We need that money to keep our place tidy, I have a friend whose room is always unkempt, this is not because she is not neat but because she doesnt have a wardrobe to put in her cosmetics and clothes so they are often laying around in her apartment until she got a wardrobe[which cost money] to solve that problem.
one doesn't necessarily need money before they can tidy their space and bathe regularly and groom themselves.
Bath regularly with which water? Some years ago, I went to a town in Abeokuta for GCE. It was a rural area, there was no adequate supply of water, and the only source of water only worked twice a week, no good toilet, and we also had to use their pit latrine, how are we supposed to maintain a good hygiene and note that hygiene isn't just about cleanliness, it deals with healthy living too...if I had money, I wont settle for such an apartment in the first place.
Even with skincare, you can buy all the most expensive products but if you don't bathe often, stay hydrated, change your bedding often
Have you seen someone who spends so much on skin care products just to stare at those products, people with skin care product are those who takes interest in bathing twice daily just to apply the products.
your points quite buttress maintenance and looking good and not merely staying hygienic as the prompt asks
.How do you stay hygienic when ten people share one toilet?
how do you stay clean when you have no money to do the containers[cupboard, wardrobe, cabinet] to keep your stuff so they won't be everywhere in your apartment?
I know your point is that without money, we can still maintain cleanliness and good hygiene, it is possible, but it is difficult; but with money, everything becomes easy😉
This is a great view. Money will aid so much in making a dirty person want to become neat. Some people give up on being neat because they feel they can’t afford to look good when their net worth is not looking good.

Nobody is ugly.We have seen some people throwback when they were poor and how they look when they became rich.

Yes, money helps to buy those things which help in cleaning but some people just focus on earning money and they don't focus on cleaning themselves or their home.

You also raised a point and I need to accept it as it's logical. From the perspective, I can't ignore the money. I think this is the first post which is different from the others. It's indeed interesting.
Of course we can not neglect the aspect that money is essential but it's not just about self cleanliness, how much people care about the cleanliness of their surroundings. Are the willing to spend on it in similar way they are spending on themselves, this is the question arises in my mind when I read your post.
Thanks for sharing the thoughts.
