New York in Florida State of Mind

Over the weekend, as Tiff and I were adding new coaches to our growing list of those we have worked out for under the orange lights there was also cheat day Saturday.

For Saturday's workout we drove out to Altamonte Springs, which is 45 minutes from Kissimmee where we reside and closer to where I lived for a few years when I moved out to Florida in Lake Mary.

Tiffany and I met years later and to make a long story short on that side of the story, I moved to Kissimmee to be closer to her and it didn't hurt that I worked out here too.

If you know anything about me, one of the things that I always mention is that I was born and raised in New York. If you know anything about New Yorkers we are obnoxious about our love of that state and proud as fucks about it.

I've lived out of New York long enough not to want to ever live there again, but I absolutely will forever be a New Yorker.

That's why if there is an opportunity to get the taste of New York here in Florida, which is harder than you may thing, I am always open to try - especially PIZZA.

But Saturday, we went to a place called PICKLES NEW YORK DELI IN LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, which is just a few minutes from Altamonte Springs.

I knew going in, that I was going to order the Pastrami on Rye sandwich. No if's no but's no maybe's. Had it with Swiss Cheese and Spicy Mustard. It was like being back home in New York - YUM.

Tiffa, being that she is from Philadelphia went with American Cheese Steak.

Of course, we are in Florida and we both love Sweet Potato Fries and Fried Pickles so deviated a bit from the meal being full on New York style.

She had Grandma's Chicken Soup and an Egg Cream, so she did hit some New Yorker favorites with those options and I went with a Red Sangria to quench my thirst with it having nothing to do with New York lol.

Overall, the place was packed and it was definitely a New York vibe and plenty of things on the menu that brought back amazing memories.
