We were on the way back home after a long afternoon of waiting at the Department of Foreign Affairs office for the release of the renewed passports of my two kids. It was so annoying to be in a middle of a very unsystematic procedure. Imagine sitting or standing for two hours waiting for your name to be called. I mean, it's just to release the passport, FFS! #lovethephilippines
Here's what they do - the client would leave their receipt on the window and then wait forever until they would call for a batch of 10 people. Then there would be a gap of 15 - 20 minutes before they would call for another batch of 10. Does it really need 15 minutes to find 10 passports? Aren't the passports sorted in some way - by release date and then alphabetically? I don't work at the DFA but for me, that's the simplest way to handle it.
Anyway, enough whining. We finally got what we went there for and it was time to go home. On the way back home we were treated to a beautiful view of Mount Maculot glinting with golden rays of the setting sun. So all the photos here were taken inside a moving car. LOL.
As a kid, I knew Mount Maculot as a place where monkeys would bring children with lots of head lice! Hahaha. "You would be flown to Mt. Maculot," the adults would threaten kids who did not want to be subjected to the fine-toothed combing of head lice.
Passing through this zigzag road, there were also lots of ghost stories. Like someone trying to hitch-hike in the middle of the night. Then, suddenly an unknown company was inside the vehicle when you did not even stop! Yikes.
Anyway, since we were on a zigzag road, the mountain would disappear from view time and again.
The golden clouds would have been nicer if the cable lines did not litter the view, but yeah, we're in the Philippines. Gotta love that distinct litter in the sky too. LOL.
I would imagine the sunset view would be majestic when on the mountain -- with Taal Lake in view, too. I wonder if people still hike to Mt. Maculot during Holy Week? I forgot to ask.
For the best experience view this post on Liketu
Mt Maculot, so you are from Batangas? Lol that's my husband hometown.
The last time I renewed my passport, I just paid for the courier service, as I find it more convenient
Yes, Batanguena are! Haha.
