My Survival Mode Daily Game Activity: Battles, Results, Rewards and Considerations
On Splinterlands there are three Ranked game modes that can be played:
- Wild Format: it is possible to use cards from all sets, Wild Pass must be paid each season, multi-accounts, bots and battle helpers are allowed
- Modern Format: only cards from the last two sets released in time order can be used, multi-accounts are allowed but bots and battle helpers are prohibited
- Survival Mode: it is possible to use cards from all sets, multi-accounts, bots and battle helpers are allowed

I consider very positively the recent introduction of Survival Mode (Feb. 27, 2025) because:
- more game modes = more possibilities for fun
- the Survival Mode created new use cases for cards and in particular created an interest in accumulating multiple copies of the same card.
If you are not familiar with Survival Mode you can read the post I wrote and published four days ago in which I explained in summary what Survival mode is and showed how to exclude cards you do not want to use in Survival Mode to avoid the Cooldown period for cards used in a battle lost in this format.

So I like Survival Moed but there are two aspects that I don't like of the current Ranked Play structure:
- two out of three ranked game modes permit the use of bots (in my opinion it should be exactly the reverse).
- human players who want to play only against human players can only use two sets of cards (in my opinion human players should always be able to use all cards of all sets only against human players without being forced to play against bots if they want to, for example, play with Alpha, Beta and Untamed cards)
On Splinterlands I like to play manually only against human players and for this reason my favorite Format is the Modern Format in which I have a collection of NFTs of my own that allows me to have a lot of fun and allows me to be competitive in the Diamond leagues of this format.
If you click on the next link you can see my last battle I played in the Diamond I league of the Modern Format.
I also enjoy playing in Survival Mode although I will immendiately stop playing manually in this format the moment bots take over human players as they do in Wild Format and if that happens I will also use a bot in this format.
In this post I share my daily play activity in Survival Mode also because it might be useful for those who have not yet tried this new game mode and want to do so and because I do not have many cards that can be used in this format and therefore my situation might be similar to the situation many players are in.
Before I started my daily play session in Survival Mode my starting point was:
- Battles: 25
- Wins: 12
- Rating: 240
- Tier: Wood
- Avaiable Cards: 923
- Depleted Cards: 109
- SPS staked: 131436 - 51000 (delegated) = 81436 = SPS boost x13.30
In Survival mode cards used in a lost battle enter a cooldown mode = cannot be used in all ranked game modes (Modern Format, Wild Format, Tournaments, Brawls) until the cooldown period is over.
My weak point in Survival Mode is that I have very few summoner cards.
In fact, as you can see in the screenshot below I have 27 summoners that I could use in Survival Mode but from this number I have to subtract the summoners that I have delegated/rented to other players and the summoners that work in my lands.
Thanks to the useful Peakmonsters filters:
- it is easy to obtain the complete list of summoners that can be used in Survival Mode.
- it is also possible to quickly see how many summoners are in cooldown.
As you can see in the next screenshot I have 14 summoners in cooldown and 7 summoners not in cooldown for a total of 21 summoners usable in Survival Mode.
Obviously I am not planning to remove from rental my level 3 Byzantine Kitty which earns me 32 DEC per day because in tier Wood of Survival Mode my gains in SPS are very small and would not justify this action of mine
For the same reason I am not intending to use in Survival Mode the summoners that I use in Modern Format because in this format I play in Diamond leagues where my SPS gains per win are much higher than Tier Wood in Survival Mode.
However, I'm very curious to see where I can go in Survival Mode with my 21 summoners and I'm also curious to find out what seasonal SPS gain I can achieve.
Today in my first battle in Survival Mode I met a player much stronger than me because he had a Power = 1241330 compared to my Power in Survival Mode = 80815
I didn't lose heart and tried to field a battle formation that could at least give my opponent a minimum of difficulty even though I had few strong cards to choose from.
When I saw my opponent's battle formation, I was happily surprised and it shows that in Survival Mode an average high CP does not always have to be scary.
I lost the battle but not in the “overwhelming” way I expected.
In the second battle I met a player much more within my reach considering the Power statistic.
I won my first battle today in Survival Mode and gained 0.197 SPS.
Thanks to this battle won, I left Tier Wood to enter the Survival Bronze III league!
In the third battle I met a player with a Power not much higher than mine but who uses cards higher than tier 1 while I with the summoners I have available can only use tier 1 cards.
I won the battle and gained 0.257 SPS.
In the transition from Tier Wood to Bronze III league, my gain in SPS almost doubled.
I continued to play until I had all my summoners in cooldown and if you click on the next links you can see all the other battles I played today in Survival Mode.

Today I played 12 battles in Survival Mode:
- 7 battles lost
- 5 battles won
I earned a total of 1.18 SPS whose market value is $0.0074718
I earned a very small value by playing in Survival Mode today, but when I'm having fun, in-game rewards matter relatively little to me.
But the rewards for those who have a lot of cards and a good amount of staked SPS are much higher and more interesting already from a rating score of 1020.
I used the https://beebalanced.streamlit.app/ tool to see the CP and staked SPSs of the Erlendo player I met today but decided not to play the battle.
When you meet players much stronger than you (with great Power) it is not worth surrendering because in this case 1 summoner + 1 monster are randomly chosen and put into cooldown. The better choice than Surrender is to choose 1 level 1 summoner + 1 level 1 (sacrificable cards) compared to the strongest and most competitive cards.
Erlendo uses a collection of cards with a Power over 9 million and has 665K SPS staked and from the battle victory against me he gained 18.21 SPS which is a good gain considering that with 1020 rating points he plays in the Silver III league in Survival Mode.
After my daily play session in Survival Mode I have no usable summoners and have to wait for some of my summoners to finish their cooldown period to resume playing.
I have 875 monster cards available to play in Survival Mode but no summoners to use.
I also considered renting summoner cards as a possible option to play more battles in Survival Mode but in Survival Mode you can only use cards that have a season-long rental (15 days) and spending 15 DEC for a summoner that can go into cooldown for 15 days does not seem like a good choice.
If I find gold foil summoners at least of epic rarity at a low rental price I might try this route as well but I will evaluate what to do slowly and most likely starting March 18, 2025 when daily rentals will be deactivated and the only option for rental will be the seasonal option.
I will also consider buying level 1 summoners but only if I find very very low prices.

Considero molto positivamente la recente introduzione del Survival Mode (27 febbraio 2025) perchè:
- più modalità di gioco = più possibilità di divertimento
- il Survival Mode ha creato nuovi casi d'uso per le carte e in particolare ha creato un interesse ad accumulare più copie di una stessa carta.
Se non conosci il Survival Mode puoi leggere il post che ho scritto e pubblicato quattro giorni fa in cui ho mostrato come escludere le carte che non vuoi utilizzare nel Survival Mode per evitare il periodo di Cooldown per le carte utilizzate in una battaglia persa in questo formato.

Però ci sono due aspetti che proprio non mi piacciono della struttura attuale del Ranked Play:
- due ranked game mode su tre permettono l'uso dei bots (secondo me dovrebbe essere esattamente l'inverso).
- i giocatori umani che vogliono giocare solo contro giocatori umani possono utilizzare solo due set di carte (secondo me i giocatori umani dovrebbero sempre poter utilizzare tutte le carte di tutti i set solo contro giocatori umani senza essere costretti a giocare contro i bots se vogliono, ad esempio, giocare con le carte Alpha, Beta e Untamed)
Su Splinterlands mi piace giocare manualmente solo contro giocatori umani e per questo motivo il mio Formato preferito è il Modern Format nel quale ho una collezione di NFT di mia proprietà che mi permette di divertirmi molto e mi permette di essere competitivo nelle leghe Diamond di questo formato.

Mi piace giocare anche nel Survival Mode anche se smetterò immendiatamente di giocare manualmente in questo formato nel momento in cui i bots prenderanno il sopravvento sui giocatori umani come avviene nel Wild Format e se succederà userò anche io un bot in questo formato.
In questo post condivido la mia attività di gioco giornaliera nel Survival Mode anche perchè potrebbe essere utile per chi non ha ancora provato questa nuova modalità di gioco e vuole farlo e perchè non ho molte carte utilizzabili in questo formato e quindi la mia situazione potrebbe essere simile alla situazione in cui si trovano molti giocatori.
Prima di iniziare la mia sessione di gioco giornaliero nel Survival Mode il mio punto di partenza era:
- Battles: 25
- Wins: 12
- Rating: 240
- Tier: Wood
- Avaiable Cards: 923

Nel Survival mode le carte utilizzate in una battaglia persa entrano in una modalità cooldown = non possono essere utilizzate in tutte le modalità di gioco ranked (Modern Format, Wild Format, Tournaments, Brawls) fino a quando non è terminato il periodo di cooldown.
Il mio punto debole nel Survival Mode è che ho poche carte evocatore.
Infatti come puoi vedere nello screenshot seguente ho 27 evocatori che potrei utilizzare nel Survival Mode ma a questo numero devo sottrarre gli evocatori che ho delegato/noleggiato ad altri giocatori e gli evocatori che lavorano nelle mie lands.
Grazie agli utili filtri di Peakmonsters:
- è facile avere la lista completa degli evocatori utilizzabili nel Survival Mode
- è anche possibile vedere in modo veloce quanti evocatori sono in cooldown.
Come puoi vedere nel prossimo screenshot ho 14 evocatori in cooldown e 7 evocatori non in cooldown per un totale di 21 evocatori utilizzabili nel Survival Mode.
Ovviamente non ho intenzione di togliere dal noleggio la mia Byzantine Kitty di livello 3 che mi fa guadagnare 32 DEC al giorno perchè nel tier Wood del Survival Mode i miei guadagni in SPS sono molto piccoli e non giustificherebbero questa mia azione se non per pura pazzia :)
Per lo stesso motivo non ho intenzione di usare nel Survival Mode gli evocatori che uso nel Modern Format perchè in questo formato gioco nelle leghe Diamond dove i miei guadagni in SPS per vittoria sono molto più alti rispetto al tier Wood nel Survival Mode.
Sono però molto curioso di vedere dove posso arrivare nel Survival Mode con i miei 21 evocatori e sono anche curioso di scoprire che guadagno stagionale in SPS riuscirò ad ottenere.
Oggi nella mia prima battaglia nel Survival Mode ho incontrato un giocatore molto più forte di me perchè aveva un Power = 1241330 rispetto al mio Power nel Survival Mode = 80815
Non mi sono perso d'animo e ho cercato di schierare una formazione di battaglia che potesse dare almeno un minimo di difficoltà al mio avversario anche se avevo poche carte forti tra cui scegliere.
Quando ho visto la formzione di battaglia del mio avversario sono rimasto felicemente sorpreso e questo dimostra che nel Survival Mode un CP mediamente alto non deve sempre spaventare.
Ho perso la battaglia ma non nel modo "schiacciante" che mi aspettavo.
Nella seconda battaglia ho incontrato un giocatore molto più alla mia portata considerando la statistica Power.
Ho vinto la mia prima battaglia odierna nel Survival Mode e ho guadagnato 0.197 SPS.
Grazie a questa battaglia vinta ho lasciato il tier Wood per entrare nella lega Survival Bronze III!
Nella terza battaglia ho incontrato un giocatore con un Power non molto più alto del mio ma che usa carte di livello superiore al primo livello mentre io con gli evocatori che ho a disposizione posso usare solo carte di livello 1.
Ho vinto la battaglia e ho guadagnato 0.257 SPS.
Nel passaggio dal tier Wood alla lega Bronze III il mio guadagno in SPS è quasi raddoppiato.
Ho continuato a giocare fino ad avere tutti i miei evocatori in cooldown e se clicchi sui prossimi links puoi vedere tutte le altre battaglie che ho giocato oggi nel Survival Mode.

Oggi ho giocato 12 battaglie nel Survival Mode:
- 7 battaglie perse

Ho guadagnato in totale 1.186 SPS il cui valore di mercato è di 0.0074718$
Ho guadagnato un valore molto piccolo giocando oggi nel Survival Mode ma quando mi diverto le ricompense di gioco mi interessano relativamente poco.
Ma le ricompense per chi ha molte carte e un buon quantitativo di SPS staked sono molto più alte e più interessanti già a partire da un punteggio di rating di 1020.
Ho utilizzato il tool https://beebalanced.streamlit.app/ per vedere il CP e gli SPS staked del giocatore Erlendo che ho incontrato oggi ma ho deciso di non giocare la battaglia.
Quando incontri giocatori molto più forti di te (con un grande Power) non conviene arrendersi perchè in questo caso 1 evocatore + 1 mostro sono scelti in modo casuale e messi in cooldown. La scelta migliore rispetto al Surrender è scegliere 1 evocatore di livello 1 + 1 carta di livello 1 sacrificabili rispetto alle carte più forti e competitive.
Erlendo utilizza una collezione di carte con un Power superiore a 9 milioni e ha 665K SPS staked e dalla vittoria in battaglia contro di me ha guadagnato 18.21 SPS che è un buon guadagno considerando che con 1020 punti di rating gioca nella lega Silver III nel Survival Mode.
Dopo la mia sessione di gioco giornaliera nel Survival Mode non ho evocatori utilizzabili e devo aspettare che qualche mio evocatore termini il periodo di cooldown per riprendere a giocare.
Ho 875 carte mostro disponibili per giocare nel Survival Mode ma non ho evocatori per poterle utilizzare.
Ho considerato anche il noleggio di carte evocatore come possibile opzione per giocare più battaglie nel Survival Mode ma nel Survival Mode è possibile utilizzare solo le carte che hanno un noleggio di durata stagionale (15 giorni) e spendere 15 DEC per un evocatore che può andare in cooldown per 15 giorni non mi sembra una buona scelta.
Se troverò evocatori gold foil almeno di rarità epica ad un prezzo di noleggio basso potrei provare anche questa strada ma valuterò cosa fare con calma e molto probabilmente a partire dal 18 marzo 2025, data in cui saranno disattivati i noleggi giornalieri e l'unica opzione per il noleggio sarà l'opzione stagionale.
Considererò anche la possibilità di acquistare degli evocatori di livello 1 ma solo se troverò prezzi molto molto bassi.

It looks quite tough since you are stuck in the lower ranks and it also means that the SPS rewards aren't so high yet either. I guess only time will tell if the higher leagues are worth it.
More game modes always mean more fun, but allowing bots and multi-accounts 🤔 don't know about that being completely fun. I hope it doesn’t turn into a bot war

Ciao Liberty! Non ho letto tutto il post, ma entro qualche giorno voglio proprio conoscere i dettagli qui descritti. Intanto ti voglio lasciare qui, in questo commento, la mia opinione per quanto riguarda il Survival Mode. Trovo che questa nuova modalità di gioco sia molto interessante e molto divertente. Io avevo tante vecchie carte che non potevo più usare nella modalità Modern e non avevo più interesse a competere nella modalità Wild.adesso tutto cambia e riesco a divertirmi in due leghe. Direi che la situazione è totalmente cambiata rispetto ad un anno fa, quando quasi ero arrivato ad avere un divertimento pari a zero.
Are bots going to be allowed to play survival mode as well? I think it'll spoil the fun and the thrill of playing with real human players, I don't think it'll be a good idea to allow bots. I saw the game you played the Igor, amazing game, looks like have enjoying survival mode
