Visiting My Alma Mater after about a Decade with My Cousin, @adamsale... :)

During this past week, my cousin @adamsale, has been staying with us because she's taking the license exam for teachers today. (She's currently taking the board exam as I'm writing this... Good luck, bb!) Our place is the most convenient for her to stay in, as her review center last week is a couple of rides away.

Her venue for the exam today is the university I graduated from. So, yesterday, I went there with her to locate her classroom. Since it's my alma mater, despite not being back for about 10 years, I'm still familiar with the campus.

Before going to the university, we went to church. We offered a mass intention, then lit some candles. The bus station is also just outside the church, so it's more convenient than waiting for it at the bus stop.

We took a selfie (originally to send in our family group chat), but I'm sharing it here, too. hahah It was a comfortable ride.

When I was a student, commuting was more difficult because there were fewer options. Now, it's more convenient... though the traffic congestion during rush hour and on certain days is still the same, if not worse. haha

We arrived at the university after a 45-minute commute. It was my daily commute back then. It's nostalgic going up the battered skywalk to my alma mater. hahaha I remember sometimes running up and down that whenever I'm almost late to my first class. XD

Despite it being a Saturday, there were quite a lot of people. Of course, there are Saturday classes for some students, but I think there are also some visitors for an event.

There were also other soon-to-be teachers, like my cousin, who went there to check the classroom where they're going to take the exam. Her building is in the high school area, so I took her directly to that building.

On our way to the high school building, we passed by my favorite place when I was still a student. It's the college library. As a transferee, I had irregular classes. I had to take general education subjects with students from other departments. For the most part, nursing students had to take these classes together.

Because of that, I had some vacant time on some days, especially every Thursday. My nursing subjects were only half a day, but I had to take a Technical Writing class (minor subject) at 5 PM.

If I went home, I wouldn't want to go back to school... so I stayed in the library instead. I didn't study, though... I read novels, self-studied Japanese and did people-watching. I even found my Vitamin A in another department. hahah

That's the high school building, and the classroom on the third floor where she is assigned. The rooms beside the parking lot and the gym are mostly laboratories. My university is primarily known as an engineering institution, although it also offers a variety of other departments.

This is the view from the third floor. That building is kind of new. It wasn't there when I was a student. That space was just a parking lot. The smaller laboratory area was also used to be an open field where my friends and I would sometimes hang around. We'd sit and study there when it's not very hot.

The high school building is connected to the main building, where most classes take place. So, I took my cousin to that small space that connects the building.

The main building is the most nostalgic for me... I took a lot of photos, so check them out below...

The murals on the fourth floor are so cute and cool! It's my first time seeing them in person. My male bestie, who also graduated here, sent me photos of it when they were freshly painted a couple of years ago.

I sent one of these photos to him, and he was also feeling nostalgic, especially about intramurals. This ground is where the cheerleading competition and opening ceremony were held back then.

The engineering department used to boo the nursing department during these competitions, but since I spent the opening with him, I tagged along with them that time. haha I was even wearing my nursing shirt, and when his friends noticed I was a nursing student, they just laughed and adopted me to the engineering department. hahaha

I mostly just logged in, went out somewhere, then logged out during intrams. I either went home, went to the library, the internet cafe, or to the shopping mall with my friends.

Lastly, we dropped by my former department. This was where most of the nursing classes took place. There are operating rooms, nursing laboratories, and all the other stuff we could use for practice.

It's really nostalgic... and it made me happy to be in this place again. There are just a lot of memories, despite being a transfer student. I actually like this university a lot.

We then headed out afterwards, because we had to have lunch and do some grocery shopping. My cousin treated me to lunch. She's so sweet and thoughtful. Thank you!!!!

Last night, our aunt and two other cousins suddenly dropped by, and we had a fun night. We all cheered for her... and I'm sure she'll do really well in her exams. She has worked hard for it, so she deserves it. We're excited to celebrate! haha

So yeah, that's it for my nostalgic visit to my university... and what's more, I share my experiences with my cousin.

That's it for now... thanks for checking this post out! See you around! (^^,)/
