I was supposed to write an entry about my activities yesterday, but then I saw this week's ASEAN Hive Community Challenge, so I decided to make my initial post as part of my entry. The topic for the challenge this week is How do you beat the heat?
This is such a relevant question especially in the Philippines and perhaps other Southeast Asian countries nowadays. It has been hot the past weeks, well, months even and I'm missing rain so much. However, I still appreciate the fine weather.
Yesterday, papa and I had to go out because I wanted to get a new CPU for my PC. I've had my old one since 2015 (as I checked in the BIOS yesterday) and it hasn't been that helpful in my job anymore with all the lagging and stuff.
We didn't have money, but luckily, papa had a product loan offer, so I grabbed the chance to use it. My PC is an investment since it's my everyday partner for both my main job and blogging.
It sure was a fine day, but there were no clouds in the sky. It still looks really beautiful, though. This was after lunch and the temperature was around 32 degrees Celsius, but the heat index surpasses that by at least 3-5 degrees more.
We had to take cover in this building while waiting for our transport. Luckily, we didn't have to wait that long, so we could go to our destination.
Whenever papa and I go out during the daytime, we usually wear caps and long-sleeved shirts. The fabric is thin and comfortable, so it's not hot. The long-sleeves are for protection against the heat of the sun. Yes, we don't use umbrella because I'm lazy... xD I prefer caps + long-sleeved comfortable shirt.
She used a couple lemons, one cucumber, five tablespoons of brown sugar and two spoonful of honey. She also added lots of ice cubes. It was amazingly refreshing!!! There are some left in the fridge, so the ingredients can actually go far. <3 We just have to add more water and if you prefer sweet, more sugar or honey.
I also ate some ice cream yesterday and this is my leftover. I had to eat it for dessert after lunch today. This particular ice cream is so refreshing especially because of its flavor and it's quite light.
Now, I can chill... including in my job since my PC functions much better and faster. I wouldn't have to worry much about lags and sudden shutdowns.
It's so much faster and smoother to use. I even tried playing MLBB on my PC last night to test it and it's as smooth as I'm playing using my mobile. I'm just not used to playing using PC, though. I haven't played online PC games since I stopped during my university days. haha
Ohh well, I hope you all have a good day! My break time's almost over, so I have to prepare for my afternoon classes! See you around and keep yourself hydrated! Take care! (^^,)/
Drinks always give us peace from the hot heat.
That's for sure! ^^
Stay hydrated, friend! :)
Cold drinks provide comfort for us when it's hot, ice cream is also more tempting
Yes... But ice cream makes us thirsty, so we have to drink water afterwards. It's still refreshing, though!
Apart from drinking water to naturally cool us down, juices and smoothies are excellent ways to stay hydrated. Ah, ice cream! This is one of my dietary limitations. My favourite ice cream flavours are mango, strawberry, and buco the thick selection. I cannot eat those right now due to my acid reflux and skin allergies. I am envious! Grrr...☹️😭
Hope you get better and enjoy these delicious treats... is yogurt also not allowed?
We can survive this heat with the help of long sleeves and caps and you can add sunglasses to this to protect the eyes when out.
By the way, may I know how much the CPU cost? Good thing you now have a new one for your work and hobby.
I'm not really keen on wearing sunglasses, but my eyeglasses can transition into one. So, I sometimes wear it. ^^
If it's cash, it would be around 22k, but I used Home Credit for it... so, the total would be around 25k-ish... including a camera and headphones. :)
Oh thanks for that.
That cucumber and lemon drink with lots of ice is a blast!!
Stat hydrated too dear.
It was!!! Thank you!!! <3

Congrats on the digital upgrade, you do it about as often as I do, haha. I think my current setup is about 6 years old, and I hope to get at least 4 more years out of it before having to replace or repair anything. Love the shot of you and your dad waiting for transport while hiding from the sun. The two of you look like partners in crime.
Thank you so much... I don't usually buy unless the current one is close to dying. haha
We are indeed partners in crime. (^^,)/ Thanks for dropping by! :D
