The art

I already talked about this piece in the fail post so here is some copy pasta from it

Right above is a picture of a replica that the scan and print is based on, it's a beautiful piece called the Sutton Hoo helmet, it was found in a burial sight it's theorized that this helmet also served a dual purpose as a crown. I think it's a beautiful piece.

The print

This one was tough, I tried multiple times on a a few of my printers and had a lot of failures my first one was huge and I almost used 2 kg of plastic on it and it ended up failing having a layer shift close to the end, I tried smaller version on another printer and still had failures, I tried to print this at least 5 times and finally some success, it's smaller then the original I was trying to print but maybe that's for the best would then have to figure out a place to display that huge thang.

I printed it with blue silk PLA, it gives it this nice shiny and smooth finish and the supports came off fairly well, I am really glad to finally get it, It can almost fit my baby girl but a bit too small.

_{My first attempt a fail with some layer shifts close to the top due to the heavy weight and my acceleration setting being too high}
