I tried to buy cards in the game Splinterlands and this happened

Hey hey, Animek here again in a new Spl adventure. I wanted to use the profits from my 3 powerful Hive to spend them, but the Beeswap page wasn’t working. The Spl game sent me to Hive-Engine where I could buy DEC, but I saw something new: I had a WAIV token. I don’t know how I got it, but I had enough, so I sold it to buy DEC. That way I could get the cards I wanted.

I was buying small amounts, not the quantity I wanted. Then I found the swap option, way more useful. I set WAIV to receive DEC, and in a minute I had the tokens ready to buy.

Here’s a smile moment: while fighting to win I ran into @bhattg, and with a bit of luck from the universe I actually beat him. A miracle I never saw coming until it happened.

At first I wanted these cards, they looked cool. The snake looks strong and I like its design, but the girl card… well, how could I not pick her? Her design is super attractive, I loved it.

When I tried to buy I couldn’t, it asked for DEC, which was weird since I had just bought it. After messing with the menus, I found out I had to deposit the token into the game first before making purchases. Totally new to me, and I don’t think I’ve seen that explained anywhere. As a new user here I had no idea about this.

Bad luck again: when I went to battle with my 2 new cards, surprise, they weren’t in my deck. I thought maybe I had to manually add them from the market to the deck? Didn’t see any menu. By accident I entered the modern league and there my new cards finally showed up.

Surprise surprise: I won, but couldn’t claim rewards. I had to stake another token, and since I don’t have it, I couldn’t claim. So I ended up with cards I can’t use, and in the place where I can use them I don’t get prizes. I also don’t have that book they say you need to buy. For now, that’s everything I’ve learned about the SPL buying system. I don’t know if there are guides for this — I searched but couldn’t find any. And since my time on the PC is limited because I rent it at the cyber café, I can’t spend as long as I’d like. What other newbie surprises are waiting for me? Luckily, the card prices weren’t high.
