I Saw I Came I Ate - Chilling After Work at Fuel Up

Hello all, I am back again to share with you a new location that was being introduced by my friend. Today's eating place is a bistro that is located at an industrial building which is very desirable for those whom are working nearby to hang out and chill over some drinks after work. So let's get right into today's eating place and what the food they offer.

Notes on this place: The restaurant is found at the ground level of an industrial building which host many offices and factories. This bistro is huge and has carpark available within the building. A nice and cozy place to chill and relax. Not only does it offer food and drinks, they also have a number of darts machine. So if you wanna have a little competition with your colleagues or friend, it is something that you can try on.

The Food
Now to the main highlight of this post, let's talk about the food that this bistro serves. This is a place where they have strong affinity to Thai cuisine and many of the common Thai cuisine is available in their menu. However, instead of ordering main courses such as Phad Thai or pineapple fried rice, we instead mainly finger food to that it is easy to eat while we have some drinks.

Here's what we've ordered

• Truffle Fries
• Crispy Roast Pork
• Heineken 1 pint
• Guiness 1 pint
• Coconut ice cream

Let's start looking at each of the food item closely as I review them

Sharing Platter

Nice mix of small bar bites put into a single platter. All items are nice and crunchy. I liked the variety of items within the platter and the chicken wing was fried to perfection with a nice crisp. Other items such as spring roll, popcorn chicken and squid ball were all nice bites as we savour our beer while we catch up. Portion is good for 2-3 person.

Truffle Fries

A dish that cannot go wrong? Not necessary the case because I do had bad experiences with truffle fries from other places where the truffle flavour does not come up or it severely oily. However, the truffle fries served here do have the truffle flavour but not too overpowering and most importantly it didn't look super oily. Another easy to eat food while we drink.

Crispy Roast Pork

This is a dish that I can never resist as long as it is done well where the top skin layer is crispy. The pork served here have a good ratio of fat and lean meat, giving a nice and smooth bite on the meat and a crackling sound when we munch on the skin layer. A sour sauce is being served alongside this to complement and remove extra oilyness felt on the pork. Portion is good and served hot. Something that I strongly recommend you to try it.

The Alcohol

I believe this two glasses no need much introduction. My friend like the stout while I prefer the usual from Heineken. Price is good as well even after happy hour so definitely a place to have your beer without burning your pocket.

Coconut Ice Cream

While the looks of this coconut ice cream looks like some ordinary vanilla ice cream, this actually packs a punch in terms of the coconut flavour diffusing out from the ice cream as you eat. Initially, my friend and I thought we were both full from all the bar bites and finger food, but we still decided to order because it is just $1.50 Singapore Dollars for this cup of ice cream. Nice and value for money, and also good way to wrap up our dinner/drinking session.

Overall:
Nice place that offers simple food that is well done and most importantly, it is very affordable to dine here as compared to other bistro or pubs that charge you crazily high for the food you ordered. Regardless of items, be it food, alcohol or dessert, all are value for money. And I am very certain this place is well visited by people working in that area. It can definitely host big crowds without feeling squeezy.
