Sushi or Taco? Or both in a Nori taco
Hello, Hivers and Foodies!!
Since yesterday, I've been trying to write this post, and every time I sat down in front of the laptop, the power went out. I think yesterday the power went out at home about 6 times and it was quite frustrating. I hope to have more luck today power-wise, but that's not what I'm here to tell you about, but a foodie experience I had last month during my trip to Bogota.
A couple of days ago, I told you about a visit to the Museo y Parque del Chico, and I told you that I came out of the visit hungry, so now I'm going to tell you about what I ate after the visit.
Looking for places to eat in the city, I came across the info of a sushi place that caught my attention because their specialty was Nori Tacos. To be honest, I had never even heard of them, but when I saw a picture I knew I had to try them.
The Nori Tacos are tacos that instead of the traditional corn tortilla are made with crispy Nori seaweed and the filling is whatever you want but it is usually very similar to a sushi roll.
The place called Akasaki was on my way from the park to the place I was staying. It was well past lunchtime when I arrived. It is on 81st Street between Carrera 8 and 9.
It was empty because as I mentioned it was past lunchtime and it was still early for dinner.
When I arrived, I was served by the owner of the restaurant and he gave me the menu. When I told him that I knew I wanted the Nori Tacos, he smiled and told me that was exactly what he was going to recommend.
So I ordered and waited for my order to be delivered.
The dish was a trio of tacos. One with shrimp ceviche, one with tuna tartar, and the other with salmon ceviche with a touch of passion fruit.
All three were delicious, but the one I liked the most was the shrimp ceviche.
The Nori was crunchy. And the shrimp ceviche had less sauce than the others and that helped the seaweed stay crispy while I ate it.
The tuna tartar was tasty, but I don't know if it's just that now that I'm watching my diet, I'm a little picky, and I thought it had too much sauce that was kind of a house mayo.
I also liked the salmon one, and the touch of passion fruit gives it a very nice flavor.
I loved these sushi tacos and I can't wait to try making them at home.
So as soon as I can I will buy a package of Nori seaweed to try to make them crispy. Maybe I can make them in the Air fryer, what do you think?

I've never seen nori prepared that way. Fascinating. What else is in the taco part that gives it that color? I'm glad that they were tasty. I was introduced to ceviche when I lived in Costa Rica. It's a great way to prepare fish or seafood. Thanks for sharing your food adventure. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
The ceviche is a perfect complement to these Nori tacos. The way to make them crispy is by making a Tempura, a very thin and crispy batter from Japanese food.

Apparently the problem with the electricity supply is a big problem in the countries of this area of the world, here in my city of Corrientes- Argentina The same thing happens
It's nice to arrive at a place and be served by its own owner, and the best of all is that he wants to recommend what you have in mind to order, that's what I call good service

It's definitely sushi tacos 😌💚💘 I was to order now, please. I have some nori sheets in my freezer that may be fossilized by now 😂 The idea of roasting them and filling them with whatever I find is really tempting!
Power outlets have been more frequent in my area lately. We had like seven yesterday; none lasted more than 15 min. The intermittency is frustrating. I wonder if the general event is nationwide.
And that intermittency is the most damaging to electrical appliances. I get chills every time there is one.
Let me know if you used your fossilized nori sheets to try making the tacos 😂.

So hows the power in your place? I hope its really settled now. Aside from it's really annoying, power interruption can also break our appliances, like seriously!
Anyways, in my life I never ever tried Tacos yet, I'm curious to the taste of that same with the Nori Seaweed version. The appearance looks really appealing.
This week has been good with electricity, but I'm not saying it too loud just in case, hehe.
Authentic tacos are made with corn flour tortillas and are a Mexican food. This version with nori seaweed is different in taste but delicious! And for us from this side of the world hehe a bit exotic;)

Thank you for posting this new to me food item. I have never heard of Nori but now I will look for it in the stores, without tasting, the shrimp taco would be my favorite, anything shrimp is good.
