Rebranding the #POBPhotocontest!

I've been running the #POBPhotocontest for quite a long time already. There have been 166 rounds over the past years.
I started this contest in the Proof of Brain community, which was just started up itself. The idea behind the contest was to get more activity in the Proof of Brain community. For a while the community was very active, but later on it became less and less.
Domain names have not been renewed and there is no activity in the Discord channel anymore as well. This POB project seems to have died.
All the time I kept running the POBPhotocontest, mainly because it was known to many Hivers.
I also rewarded POB tokens to the winners of the contest.

In the past years I have developed my own account on Hive. I've started a few initiatives on hive to improve engagement. This, in combination with the downfall of the Proof of Brain community made me decide to rebrand the POBPhotocontest. From now on it will be:

The Friendlymoose Photocontest

What's new?

To begin with... the name; it will be named the Friendlymoose Photo Content
Besides that I will be hosting it from Photography community from now on.
The rewards will not be POB tokens anymore, but will be replaced with Hive tokens.
I will give away 6 Hive, divided in 3, 2 and 1 Hive for the top 3.
The Ecency point will still be given away to the winners as well.
The tag to use will also change. You will need to add the #FPC tag your blog.
This is the way I can find all entries when I select the winners.

And last, but not least I would love to see some more interaction! Engagement is very important, especially for photographers. And it's nice to see that some of you already interact in the comment sections of the entry posts. I don't want to make it a strict rule, but I do would ask every contestant to comment on at least one or two blogs of other contestants.

Tell them what you think of their photo(s). If you can, leave them some constructive feedback. Share what you would have done differently to improve their photo. I think positive and constructive feedback can make you a better photographer.

I'm not going to check whether everyone does their comments and I'm not going to punish you if you forget, but I think it could really add something to this contest!

The theme: FRESH

And then the theme for this week! Because it is a fresh new start, I decided that FRESH is the subject for this week.

Fresh can be interpreted in many ways. This week we had some rain showers that were quite refreshing for my backyard. The plants has a fresh load of water on them like you can see in my photo below. But you can also take a picture of some fresh food; what about some fresh strawberries or other fruit of ice cream or milk.
But you can also shoot some freshborn babies. I've seen a lot of ducklings and goslings around here.
Or maybe a fresh ocean breeze...
The topic isn't very strict, so just be creative in how you interpret it!

About the Friendlymoose Photocontest

The Friendlymoose Photocontest (#fmp) is a weekly photography competition featuring a new theme each week. It runs from Sunday to the following Sunday, closing at 8:00 PM CEST.

This contest is open to everyone—whether you're an experienced photographer with professional gear or a beginner capturing shots on your phone. All are welcome to join!

Each week, you can participate by creating a blog post featuring at least one photo that aligns with the current theme. Make sure to place your themed photo as the first image in the post. While you can submit an archived photo, it’s more engaging to head out and capture something new!

Your photo should tell a story on its own, but add context in your post. Share background details about the subject, location, techniques you used, and your inspiration for selecting this photo. Don’t forget to tag your post with #FPC so I can find your entry!

You’re also welcome to leave a comment on this post with your photo and a link to your blog entry.

The contest ends next Sunday at 8:00 PM CEST, after which I’ll review the entries and select three winners. Judging will be based on both photo quality and originality, as well as the accompanying background information in your post.

Winners will receive Hive tokens and Ecency points.
