Hive Photography Contests

There are a lot of great photography contests on Hive. Many of them run weekly. Some have recurring themes, while others come up with a new subject each week.
It's fun to join, and you can even win upvotes, Hive, or other tokens. Joining photo contests is also a great way to grow your network and connect with other photographers.

Because it's not always easy to keep track of them all, I’ve started this weekly blog post. In it, I list all the photo contests I know about.
The table below shows the different contests and links to this week’s posts.
Make sure to check the deadline — some contests close earlier than others.

Further down, you’ll also find a short description of each contest, the rules, and what kind of prizes you can win.

Each contest has its own rules and prizes. I’ve gathered the information from the official announcement posts.
Keep in mind that organizers sometimes change the rules or prize structure. If you notice anything that’s no longer correct, please let me know.

Friendlymoose Photo Contest

A photo contest by me, @friendlymoose with a different subject evert week.

Rules

• You create a post containing a photo of the subject for this round.
• It's important that the photographs you submit are made by you.
• It can be a new photo or one from your archive.
• Add a few words describing your photo; what you photographed, why you photographed it and maybe what settings you used, so others can learn from it.
• You are allowed to send in one photo and the first photo in your post will count.
• You need to add the hashtag $FPC to your post.
• Finally put a link to your post in the comments.
• Comment on other entries

Prizes
The top 3 will receive both Hive tokens and Ecency points.
The Ecency points are generously donated by @good-karma and can be used in the @ecency front end to boost or promote your posts.

Qurator Photo Quest

This Photo contest is organised by the @qurator account on a weekly basis.
The contest starts on Fridays with a new subject.

Rules

• Only photography-related posts.
• Only the first image of your post will be considered as your entry
• Use the #qurator tag.
• Mention the Photo Quest competition in your post title or somewhere in your post.
• Post your link as a comment in this post to officially enter.
• Posts cannot be older than this post.
• Your entry will not count if you aren't following the above-mentioned rules.
• All entries will be reviewed by the Qurator team.
• Deadline: 12 hours before this post reaches payout.
• Can't win 1st place two times in a row.

PhotoFeed Contests

The Photfeed is a weekly contest organised by @PhotoFeed in the eponymous community.
Every week there will be chosen another subject.

Rules

• Every user has 1 entry per theme
• Only use your own work
• Post your entry in the comment section with a short description
• No nudity

Prizes
Every Round has 3 winners which will share a pool of 35% post beneficiaries
Every entry receives a 30% upvote on the comment submission
If you make a separate post with "PhotoFeed Contest - .." u will receive a 30-50% upvote on your post

Monomad Black and White Challenge

The Monomad Black and White challenge is a daily photography contest organised by @monochromes
You can actually submit any subject as long as it’s in Black and White.

Rules

• Post your entries in the Black And White Community (ELIMINATORY FACTOR).
• Clearly mention the #monomad challenge in your post title or post body. For example: "This is my entry for the #monomad challenge" (ELIMINATORY FACTOR).
• At least 50% of the submitted post, including the first image, needs to be black and white (ELIMINATORY FACTOR).
• Use the #monomad tag (ELIMINATORY FACTOR).
• Every photograph must be yours. Plagiarism will be immediately reported (ELIMINATORY FACTOR).
• Reusing previously posted images will be treated as content recycling and it will be reported as well (ELIMINATORY FACTOR).
• We reserve the right to change the contest rules at any given time without further notice.

Prizes
All three winners get a 50% Upvote

Shadow Hunters Contest

This is a weekly photography contest organised by @melinda010100.
The subject remains the same: shadows.

Rules

• Place your entry link in the comment section of this post !
• The photos must be your own.
• One entry per Person. Be fair to everyone and do not enter from more than one account
• The title of your post should make clear that it is an ~ Entry for the Shadow Contest.
• Post into the Shadow Hunters Community (@hive-179017)
• If you create a post with multiple shadow photos, you should state which one is your entry, otherwise I will assume it is the first photo.
• Please use 👉 #Shadows as one of your first 5 tags.

Prizes
Winners and honorable mentions will receive 300 Ecency points and a couple of different other tokens

Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest

@nelinoeva hosts a weekly contest with a different theme every time, but it always revolves around birds.

Rules

• The photo must be your own.
• Post in the community Feathered Friends
• You may add more photos, but you should state which one is your entry, otherwise the first will be taken into account.
• Tell us something about your photo/s. Use at least 100 words to describe your photo/s.
• Your photo must follow the weekly theme, which will be announced each Sunday.
• Please put the link of your entry in the commment section of the contest post here.
• Put in the title of your post that this is an entry for the contest. (Optional)
• Use #smap as a tag.

Prizes
Five winners and each winner will receive 2 Hive or 2 HBD (it depends on the price of Hive), 600 Ecency POINTS and some other tokens (depening on the sponsors of the week).

CCC’s Street Art Contest

This contest is organized by @digi-me in the Streetart community where you can submit photos of all different forms of street art.

Rules

• Competition open to all.
• No reuse of previous photos
• Upvotes and reblog are appreciated to boost post payout for the winners but not a claim.
• Only street art-related posts and remember to tell us where you found it.
• It's not about posting a picture of the largest mural or done by one of the most famous artists. The winners will be judged based on art that has an appeal to us. (visuel, message etc.)
• Mention the CCC's Street Art Contest in your post title or somewhere in your post.
• Post your Street art picture and link as a comment in this post to officially enter.
• Posts cannot be older than this post.
• Only the first photo in your post will be evaluated for the competition.
• Only one entry per week.
• Deadline: 2 hours before this post reaches payout.
• Your entry will not count if you aren't following the above mentioned rules.

Love the clouds

This contest of @tobetada is not only for photography, but it’s mostly photographs of clouds that people send in.

Rules

• Upvote and resteem the contest OR Upvote and promote the contest with a link
• Make a comment with a link of your work below this post
• All of the submitted works must be original and made by you!
• Only 1 entry/post per person
• Post in the 'Love The Clouds Community' or use the #lovetheclouds tag

Prizes
There will be 3 finalists chosen by the community in an upcoming post entitled "Love The Clouds Finalists?", so be sure to vote if you are a community member!

Reflection Hunters Contest

A weekly photography contest organized by @olgavita with the subject reflections.

Rules

Around the World Challenge

A photo challenge hosted by @bucipuci where you can share photos from all around the world.

Rules

• use the #aroundtheworld tag only on a single competition photo article
• insert the link to the article with the competition photo in the comments section of this article!
• The competition photo must (!) be your own and have in the caption where it was taken
• Only one photo from each competitor will be included in the competition
• If your article contains more than one photo, please tag (eg "this is a contest photo") the photo you want to place in the contest
• Only photos showing places in your area or places from your holiday have a chance to choose
• (kitchens or gardens are interesting but not for this competition)

Prizes

First prize ... 1.5 HBD
Second prize ... 1 HBD
Third prize ... 0.6 HBD

Drone Pic of the Week Contest

This weekly contest is organized by @ksteem in the Drone community (@hive-186141).
You can submit photos taken by drones, but also with other Remote Controlled vehicles like cars and boats. And you can also submit photos of a drone.

Rules

• You must be a member or Join the Drone community.
• You must post in the Drone community and have Drone as the first tag.
• It must be Drone/RC car, Plane, Robot, or related post.
• Optional; Place "Drone Pic Contest" in the subject or body.

Prizes
Top 3 three posts and the winners will each receive 200 Ecency points.
Runners up or Honorable Mentions may receive some Ecency points as well.

Visual Shots Contest

The @visualshots community makes a weekly compilation post of the blogs that are created in the community.

Rules

• Your entries must be published in the Visual Shots Community.
• Only original content.
• Plagiarism will not be tolerated, these actions will be reported and muted.

Phonography Contest

This phonographycontest is run by @untilwelearn
The main attraction of the contest is a photo taken from your phone along with a story, memory or feeling associated with that photo.

Rules

• Only blogs written by Ecency and published on FeelGood Community will be eligible for the contest.
• You must write at least 151 words in your entry.
• Only one entry per participant will be valid.
• Don't forget to use 'Phone Photography' in the title of your entry and #phonography in the hashtags.
• Share the link of your entry in the comments section of the announcement post and also try to connect and engage with other participants as much as possible.

Prizes

• 501 Ecency Points for each winner are generously donated by @barbara-orenya
• Each winner will be generously given 1 HSBI Share by @alokkumar121

This weekly contest organized by @hive-br (the Hive Brazil community) has a different subject every week. New rounds start on a Tuesday.

Rules

• Your post must include in the title: HiveBR Photo Contest.
• Use the tag #hivebrphotocontest in the post to facilitate identification.
• After making the post, comment on the contest announcement post with the link to your entry.
• The photo must be 100% original and never published before.
• Each participant can submit only one photo per week.

Prizes
1st Place:

• 90% upvote from the hive-br.voter account
• 2 HIVE
• 5% beneficiary in the winners' announcement post.

2nd Place:

• 85% upvote from the hive-br.voter account
• 1 HIVE

Lifescape Tribe Night Photography

Every week the Lifescape Tribe (@hive-144838) will conduct a contest focusing on Night Photography run by @suteru

Rules
Deadline of entries will be a day (24 hours) before the contest post payout.
Capture a photo that best represent night photography.
Make a post in the Lifescape Tribe Community featuring your photo entry (at least 50 Words ).
Comment your photo and post link to the contest post.
We will choose 3 winners weekly.

1st Place:

Lifescape Tribe Colors of Life

Another weekly subject by the Lifescape Tribe (@hive-144838) from @suteru focusses on a different color every week.

Rules

1. Make a post in LIFESCAPE TRIBE COMMUNITY about the Color of the week.
   2 .The post must contain at least 50 words. Tell us a simple story about your chosen photo.
2. All content must be original and free from plagiarism.
3. LEAVE THE LINK AND CHOSEN ENTRY PHOTO in the comment section.

Prizes
All THREE winners will each receive 1 HSBI and 100 Ecency Points each.

Musical Photo Contest

This is a weekly contest with the subject music. It is held in the DJs on Hive (@hive-143104) community, but does not have to do withy DJing. It can also be a concert photo or a instrument.
The contest is run by @powerpaul

Rules

• Your photo must be related to music (Not necessarily only with DJing)
• The photo must have been taken by you and not previously published anywhere.
• Images generated by artificial intelligence will be ignored.

Prizes
• 1st place receives 3 HSBI + a 100% vote from CryptoCompany & its voting trail
• 2nd place receives 2 HSBI + a 50% vote from CryptoCompany & its voting trail
• 3rd place receives 1 HSBI + a 25% vote from CryptoCompany & its voting trail

Same but different

A weekly photographic activity by @pavelsku, focused on documenting ordinary, everyday objects and items from different corners of the world. This isn't a competition - it's a cultural exchange through photography.

Rules

• Take a photo of the given object in your city/region
• Write a short post with the photograph
• Use the hashtag #SameButDifferent
• Add localization - city/country
• Add cultural context - 2–3 sentences about why the subject is interesting
• Add personal perspective - what drew you to the subject
