It's another amazing week, and you know what that means - it's the 46th edition of the weekly prompt to spark your creativity and get those ideas flowing in. This week's topic happens to be one a lot of us writers don't always want to admit we struggle with. And if you're indeed a writer and have been writing for quite some time, there's a high chance that you've experienced it before.
At times you just sit down with your laptop or phone ready to treat a topic or write something down, and your mind will suddenly go blank. You even try to force things, but when you check the innermost part of your mind, you find nothing there; it looks like a newly built apartment...so empty.
It feels as if it wasn't the same you who wrote something amazing just yesterday....ever felt that? That's writer's block.
And it's always different for every one of us; for some it's due to stress, for some it's overthinking, and all... Sometimes we even type, delete, type, delete, and continue it that way for a long time, and at the end of the day we find out we've written absolutely nothing.
Now, writer's block doesn't just affect new writers, not at all; even those who have been writing for years are experiencing it too. And some of the amazing stories and write-ups that we come across, read, and enjoy were probably written by people who at a time had run out of words.
So, this week we are talking about it. Have you ever experienced it? What does it feel like? How did you scale through? What is your way out anytime you experience writer's block?
