Maybe I'm Not Behind After All.

Sometime ago I looked at myself and couldn't help but wonder how everything is turning out the way it is. It just seems like every other person I know is moving forward and doing things while I remain stagnant. And believe me, it is just the truth. I see how my friends, including those who I'm older than, are doing great things, giving birth, getting married, building houses, taking up deals, and getting different opportunities, and all while I'm here still struggling.

And that thought would always come..."What exactly are you doing with your life." And tell me the truth, what exactly am I doing with my life? It hurts

Yeah, it hurts. But one thing I need is to understand is that comparison can be both healthy and unhealthy at the same time. Yeah, especially what it gets to the stage of that I said above it has become unhealthy already. You won't even have peace within you, talk less of you even remembering your little wins and how far you've come.

That feeling is something I can very well relate with too. Yeah. I have things I wanted to achieve at a certain age; guess what, I've clocked that age, and I'm not even close to achieving those things. A lot of things are taking longer than I thought, and I can't just help it. There are some I'm not even thinking of anymore, but I still have a lot more that I wouldn't let go of.

You want to know why I'm not letting them go? It's because I've realized that I'm not competing with anyone. I'm not running a race with anybody; it is me vs. me. It is not me vs. anybody. And there's something else I realize in life, it is that your present situation may not be another person's prayer point but it might be the next level someone else is working towards. Another thing I realize is that no matter how far you think someone has gone in an area, you're definitely ahead of them in something too.

We don't actually see or notice that because we're always focused on something else. And everything that even surrounds us doesn't even make it easy for us to realize it. See how much the media itself also contributes to this, always showing the big things, the achievements, and all of that; we don't get to see the struggles, years of waiting, and behind the scenes of all these things.

In conclusion, it is very important to add that I'm not where I want to be yet; I'm not even close to it. But then, I'm taking things easy with myself. So, I'm appreciating my little wins and grateful for where I am while working and striving towards a better future.
