Is Life Really Meaningless?

Is life really meaningless? this is the very question that came to my mind this afternoon on my way home and the scene I actually witness. Today really started well even though I had plans to step out since I need to collect my road worthiness certificate today after the car inspection stress I pass through on Monday and I also planned to visit a friend in Ketu area who invited me and one of our other friends to come and try out the fifa 23 he just install on is ps4, even though I'm PES fan, I still had it in mind to play with him since It been a while we saw each other. I leave the house around 10am in the morning and was glad I didn't use up to 2hours before I got the certificate and I knew I will be free from any task force or policemen harrassment and within 30mins I already arrived at my friends house.

After everything, we went home around 4:30pm and since I knew the road, I decided not to use google map as my guide, so I couldn't notice there is a red traffic colour on the map which always indicate heavy traffic, while going home, I notice most cars weren't taking the berger route at some point, everyone was trying to divert their way through gbagada then to another route, I was confused at that point because I didn't know what was happening, I quickly check map and saw the heavy traffic ahead of us but I still went head, within 10mins what I noticed really shock me to the point that I and my friend were really scared, we notice the petrol pipeline that pass one part of the road burst in the middle and lot of people were rushing to the spot to take the petrol, filling their bucket, gallons and keg there by cause huge traffic on the road, even though I was afraid at that point because I was stucked in the traffic, my thought started coming through my mind, what if a spark happened, why are people rushing to the pipeline spot to fill their kegs instead of running for safety, is their life that worthless and have no meaning to them.

Why are people like this and willing to risk their life at any slight opportunity even when it look dangerous and deadly. I do hear it in news or saw it online especially on twitter how people always rush to such scene especially when a petrol tanker fell on the road, seeing it live and direct really make it more scary, the fact that there is a channel tv reporter covering the illegal event and also some police, Lnsc officer around doing nothing to chase or stop people away make it more terrify, there is also a video I saw online where a tanker and a bus collide together, lost of live were lost and some were injured yet people around weren't bothered about them at all, instead they were rushing to the tanker to gather as much fuel as they can illegally, this really shocked me and the person that showed me almost cried that day. Really don't know why people are like that though, but it is well because just a spark can make every thing disastrous and deadly. I pray they are really fine and nothing should happen to them.

These same people who vandalize pipelines, these same people who bring kegs and other containers to scoop fuel are the first to accuse the government for not doing their duties and there they are doing what's right.

The point is that, they do not value their lives because if they do, they won't trade their lives for a few litres of petrol. It's really annoying to see this thing happening all over and over again.
