I live barefooted and naked, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i. I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙

Today is one of those days when I don't have one specific topic about which to write, but rather a few Hive-related thoughts and updates to share that are buzzing around in my awareness this morning. My mind was pulled in too many directions to focus on just one, so let's see what's percolating today!

The most notable area that is drawing my attention at the moment is the heated discussion going on about the idea of removing the reward pool. I've been reading several posts and lots of comments on this subject, to bring myself up to speed. The main reasons for the proposed reward-pool removal are AI-generated content creation and malicious downvotes. While I acknowledge that our present system is not perfect, it's most definitely not broken, so from my perspective removing the reward pool is basically throwing the baby out with the bath water, or burning down the house to get rid of termites. It would quite effectively destroy a good bit of what makes Hive special, and would likely be suicide, and the end of Hive as we know it. I would very much suggest paying attention to this discussion, voicing your perspectives, and voting for witnesses that are actually in alignment with what you are wanting. If you love Hive, don't just sit on the sidelines and let decisions be made for you.

The second thing that's in my mind is that I've run into a bit of a challenge with my experiment with @dustsweeper. Almost a week ago, after my giant powerup to dolphin level, I updated my HP delegations, part of which was adding some new accounts to my list of delegations. One of these new accounts is @dustsweeper. Delegating to this account does not provide benefit in and of itself. To be able to make use of the service, and to be able to receive daily delegation payouts, you need to send HIVE or HBD to the account to keep your balance over .03 HIVE, which I've been doing as small bits of HIVE continue to trickle in to my wallet. This has worked more or less OK, but last night I realized that I won't be able to continue doing this and be able to participate in the January 1st #HPUD as well. The conclusion to which I came, of course, is that I need more liquid HIVE if I want to be able to do both. I'm not willing to use HBD, as getting as much of that into Savings is a top priority. So I need to come up with a way to bring in more liquid HIVE on a regular basis. One way to do this would be to buy more BXT, as that pays out in HIVE daily, but they're also a bit expensive. I'll see what other possible solutions come to me over the next few days.

This morning I decided to update my profiles on Hive, Qortal, and Bastyon, to basically say the same thing, aside from formatting differences. On Qortal and Bastyon I also added Hive-Engine addresses for coins such as BTC, LTC, BCH, and DOGE, so that crypto donations on these Blockchains will go straight to my wallet here. Below is the updated text that are now front and center on all three Blockchains. While it's not perfect, it does capture and express a great deal of what is important for me to communicate to others.

The last thought that's in my mind today that wants to be expressed is that for the past two weeks or so my post payouts have been notably below what they've consistently been for the past few months, which is both curious, and a bit frustrating, as I'm definitely putting in the time and effort. Perhaps I need to change things up a little again. I need to strike a good balance between consistent regularity and creative novelty. I've got the first one down solid, but my creative novelty has been a bit weak lately, that I admit. I'm aware of the reasons for that, though I don't yet know a way to shift things yet. Healing my broken heart. That's the thing that would get everything flowing once again, both in my life, and here on Hive. Healing my heart truly needs to be a top priority.

I was actually able to finish all of my essential Hive tasks yesterday, Tuesday, by about 2:30PM, but since it started raining around that time, I focused on doing more catch-up on my notifications. It was basically clear again by 3PM, so I left the Flow House then to go focus on some land work. Most of the photos for this post were taken in the morning, though I did take a few more, just before going to do some work. My first task was getting my machete and collecting a wheelbarrow full of assorted edible tree foliage and cane grass, for the next morning's (today's) cow-milking food. That didn't take too long, and soon I was on to do some more paid work in Ano's nursery up-potting young mango and jackfruit trees. With that done, I took a quick shower, then I made my way to the fenced garden to do another good round of weeding, which I kept doing until sunset. After working in the garden, I helped Ano carry a ladder from Kana's place to the Shop, and to unload his truck after Sunday market (yep, a bit late on that one).

After I finished all work for the day, I took a soothing hot shower, strained out kefir for my usual kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao blend, made myself some food, got food for my kitty friend, then I headed back to the Flow House for my evening round of Hive tasks and catching up on my notifications, which I was able to complete a little after 10:30PM. I went to bed pretty much right after that, and I slept well until just after 2:30AM, when I found myself awake and unable to sleep, so I decided to read some posts and comments on the reward-pool-removal discussion. I did that for a bit over and hour, then I made another attempt at sleep, at which I was seemingly successful, waking up again just after 8AM, and getting up pretty much immediately to go make my superfood fire coffee. I did a short round of token management as I prepared my delicious and spicy brew.

It's now almost 1:30PM, so a good time to end this post, to get on to my afternoon round of essential Hive tasks, before focusing on land work in the later afternoon. I deeply appreciate you all very much! Until tomorrow! Onward and upward, joyfully together! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
