I live barefooted and naked, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i. One thing has become abundantly clear to me over the past several years, that conventional financial institutions, and the whole presently existing financial system, are not for the benefit of the people; quite the opposite. This awareness has made me become extremely discerning and selective about in what I am willing to involve myself. This process has helped me clarify a new set of criteria that I use when deciding where to allocate my time and resources.

My Criteria Checklist for Financial Involvement and Investment

1.) Community-Based

I don't trust any centralized platform, company, corporation, or governmental agency or institution. The only way forward for me is a community-based financial system created by the people, of the people, and for the people. This means community created, developed, run, governed, and owned.

2.) Open Source

Open-source code is absolutely essential for any kind of financial applications, software, frameworks, and the like, for two reasons. One, transparency; the code must be able to be reviewed to verify that there are no back doors or pernicious routines, and that it does what it is said that it does. The second reason is so that people worldwide are able to contribute to its development, and so the code can be forked to create potentially even more innovative and useful tools.

3.) Decentralized/Distributed

Any kind of centralization leads inexorably to control, and is a potential point of failure. As I said above, I don't trust anything centralized. Any truely liberating and empowering financial system must out of absolute necessity be decentralized or distributed.

4.) Key Ownership

As the saying goes, not your keys, not your coins. Key ownership is essential, as if we are not in complete ownership and control of our keys, we don't really own or control out assets, which is not acceptable.

5.) Blockchain-Based/Non-Fiat

All fiat-based currencies are based on debt, and are controlled by centralized entities that do not have our best interest in mind, and are not working for our benefit. They are used as a mean of enslavement and control. For this reason I cannot and will not put any strong focus on or faith in fiat investments. Blockchain technology is an open, transparent, immutable ledger of transactions, which makes it ideal as a base for a far better financial system. Not all cryptocurrencies are the same, however, and some like CBDCs (central bank digital currencies) are co-opting the inherent benefit of blockchain technology, and then using it against people, so strong discernment is necessary here.

These new financial principles will help me effectively orient and navigate in the present treacherous global financial waters, to be able to thrive, as the whole existing slavery-based financial system comes crashing down in flames. Hive, as you might have guessed, is one of the very few financial frameworks in which I have solid belief, trust, and faith (that is true for Qortal as well). That's in part exactly why I devote so much of my attention, efforts, energy, and time to what I do here on Hive. We truly do have something immensely special here with Hive, and I take the incredible opportunity it provides firmly with both hands!

Yesterday, which was a lovely sunny, warm, and breezy Wednesday here in the Lower Puna jungle, flowed a bit more smoothly on Hive than the day before, as the multiple Hive services which were not previously working well, began functioning as intended once again. Even with that, though, I fell behind on my notifications a bit, but thankfully I was able to catch up again pretty quickly in the evening.

After leaving the Flow House a little after 3PM, I spent a little time walking around to take photos for this post, then I sharpened my machete and did some clearing work around the backside of the Flow House and down on the second driveway. As usual, I got a fair amount done in the time I was working. Once I finished my clearing work, I took a shower, strained out kefir for my kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao blend, made a new batch of toothpaste, then I made myself some food. I also made sure to get food for my sweet little kitten friend. With all that done, I returned to the Flow House to continue with, and finish, my Hive catch-up and tasks.

Even though I got everything on Hive done pretty early, I ended up staying awake until just after 12AM, mostly exploring and reading. Even though I don't think that I slept very well last night, I feel good this morning. I did a short round of Hive tasks before getting out of bed, as I played with my kitten friend (who still needs a name).

It's now approaching 12:30PM, so I'll end this post for now, so that I can get to my afternoon round of Hive catch-up and tasks, and then put my focus on some land work later, hopefully with my plants. I deeply appreciate you all! Until tomorrow! Onward and upward, joyfully together! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
