Check out this fella:

Looks like an ordinary man... Well, his name was Adrian Carton de Wiart and he was born in 5 May 1880, in Brussels.

As you may have guessed from the photo above, he was in military and fought in both WW I & WW 2 and also in the Boer war. And after retiring he sure had some stories to tell.. After all, the nickname "the man who couldn't be killed" doesn't come like that!

He was one tough (and lucky!) son of a bitch, having probably survived the most wounds in combat than any other soldier ever has.

Specifically, he was shot in the face, head, stomach, ankle, leg, hip, and ear. He also survived two plane crashes and tunnelled his ass out of a prisoner-of-war camp. Oh and there was this one time he tore off his own fingers when a doctor declined to amputate them, lmao 😂

Now, you would expect a man like this to have some serious PTSD but no. He was a totally different bred. In his memoirs he wrote in reference to WW I:

"Frankly, I had enjoyed the war."

Funnily, he almost died by a coconut after his retirement. He stepped on one while coming down some stairs and broke several vertebrae and went unconscious. But he survived that too 😂

The man that couldn't be killed eventually died by age, at the age of 83 on 5 June 1963. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he was still alive today at the age of 140 😂

During his life he won a shit ton of military awards, including the Victoria Cross, the highest military decoration awarded for valour.

Wikipedia has a great article on him if you want to read more about his fascinating fella.

Btw, while reading on him I remembered of another fascinating man you may want to check, Jack Churchill. Also known as Mad Jackal or as the guy who fought in WW II with...with a longbow, a basket-hilted Scottish broadsword, and a set of... bagpipes.

I shit you not, there's even a photo of him in a training exercise with him carrying his beloved sword lmao. Check the guy on the far right:

Here's a link to Wikipedia if you want to check up on him too!

Now, these are two guys that would make an excellent Hollywood movie 😄

If he lived long, it takes luck and skills too...

Who knows, he may be the real life WWII. Kirito

One damn lucky SOB! I have known guys like that, they loved war and would go back in a minute if they had the chance. I never found in the enjoyable personally!

The man who couldn't killed, this name given to him for his bravery and survival??? I am surprised to know how a man could survive so many shots.
Second man is also very interesting to read about him.. Survival in a war is great.

9 lives? Sure he will definitely have...that was exactly what I wanted to say.

Haven't read such a weird story in a while

It sounds weird but I guess there are a ton of different people. It sounds like he was like a cockroach and it's weird to see someone actually enjoy war. I don't think I would ever enjoy that at all.

There are many people who are lucky enough to die, but luck favors them and they survive.

There is an audio book called 'About Face' depicting his war life, nearly 40h of pure madness.

There are plenty of true stories out there that would make great movies and wish someone would make one.
