Reptiles in the Urban Area 🐊

Hello everyone 👧.

Going for an early dinner with my Mum after church activities were over yesterday. We saw a large lizard (perhaps a Water Monitor Lizard) inside the big drain just beside the restaurant we planned to enter. As the big drain is over 4 feet high, I took the courage to get close to the lizard in order to get a close-up photo. The lizard did not bother when we approached it, but we hurried getting away from it just in case this lizard suddenly attacked us.

This is not the first time we have seen this type of lizard in urban areas. Even in front of my house's main entrance, this lizard walked freely on the tar road. As for this lizard we saw now, it fats. Most restaurants throw away their food waste down the drain. Probably this lizard likes to stay around these restaurant areas due to the abundance of food the lizard can get.

Hopefully this lizard did not make any harm towards the people.
