Happiness, A journey or A destination?

avatar

It just seems as if happiness wanes as we grow older but that's the truth...
As children, we had little or no worries but then, turning to adults, we keep battling from one responsibility to another and sometimes lose track of when last we were genuinely happy.

So what exactly is happiness, is it a destination we aim to reach or just a joint we pass through as we journey through life?

Happiness by way of definition is an emotional state characterized by feelings of joy, satisfaction, contentment, and fulfillment.

so to say that for us to be happy that something must have precipitated it.
You just can't be happy for no reason but you can be happy for little reason.

Having said that, the world is full of ups and downs and it's an unpredictable place that you may be happy this minute and in the next minute, you're already not just sad but in the pool of your tears.

Happiness to me should be a joint (Journey) we pass through in life... It's true that sometimes we wish to leave happiness until we have fully achieved something significant but then, do our needs ever come to an end?

When you achieve a project, before you're happy about it, thousands of projects are already in line for you to delve into.
Do you then keep postponing your happiness in a bid to achieve all of them?

The little little things we achieve should be sources of happiness to us; at every point and every bridge we cross, we should be happy about it whether small or big before the next comes.

We keep seeking for happiness in high falloting things whereas happiness lives with us.
You don't wait till you build mansions and skyscrapers to get happy rather always be happy even for the minutest of things like waking up from sleep because it's not anyone's right rather it's a cause to be happy and thankful to God about.

Happiness could also be likened to gratitude...
The more you remain thankful for the little things that come your way, the more that keeps coming and in that same way, the more you get happy about your little achievements, the more you get the push to achieve more and become happier.

Happiness can also thrive in a heart that stops comparison!
Comparison is like a thief that steals your joy and blinds your sight to your achievements as you keep waiting to do what Mr. A does before you might be fulfilled.
Contentment is a key to happiness.

Happiness really is a destination as well as a journey but I personally think it should be more of a journey because happiness itself is short-lived (Igbos will say Obi ụtọ dị mkpụmkpụ)

Above all, Happiness Is Free!!!

Thanks for reading and happy Sunday

Yes, happiness is free and it is a journey , in my opinion. Staying happy is something that involves consciousness.

In this current state of suffering, indeed, happiness should be a conscious act😂

Happiness could be a journey or destination, or both. Regardless of where it is seen, I believe it should be grabbed with both hands because of its important to the functioning of the mind.
