Splinterlands battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge - Rebirth

Hi splinterlands community, this is my entry to the battle mage secrets challenge for this week. This week's challenge is writing about a battle where the born again ruleset was used. I thought I would miss out on this challenge because I played battles and did not get the ruleset. I finally got it late last night and decided I would share how it went.

Ruleset and Its Meaning

Born again or the rebirth ruleset means that all cards after they die the first time will come back to life. However, what I saw that the health of the cards were drastically reduced whenever they came back to life.

Summoner and Team Choices

I selected this earth summoner for the battle. I did this because I wanted to see the cards my opponent would bring before the battle started. I had the opportunity to choose between poisoning one of my opponent's cards or adding 2 melee to 2 of my cards. I saw the cards my opponent and chose the to poison my opponent's Merdaali Guardain.

Round 1

When I first saw my opponent's cards, I thought I had a chance but well, it turned out to be a massacre. Choosing the option to poison my opponent's healer was a mistake. My opponent attacked my first card first and after more attacks, I killed my opponent's first card with my first card attacking twice. It was reborn and my opponent's second card +1 magic, speed, shield and health.

I killed my opponent's first card again and this time it stayed dead but increased the stats of the second card again.

Round 2

Again, my opponent's first card attacked my first card first and my fourth card attacked next but did no damage. But before, the poison took effect and my opponent's healer's health was reduced. The attacks continued and my first card, Grunt attacked my opponent twice but missed the second attack. My second card was then killed by my opponent's third monster, deeplurker.

My second card was reborn and the health of my last card increased by 1. My queen mycelia did 0 damage on my opponent's first card and then my Goblin psychic restored a portion of my opponent's first card and reduced the health of my opponent's first card by 1.

Round 3

At the beginning of round 3, the poison killed my opponent's healer. Unfortunately, it was reborn but what I did not know was that the poison wouldn't take effect again. Again, my last card's health was increased by 1.

My opponent's first card attacked first again reducing the health of my Grund to 3 and my card, Regal Peryton did no damage. My last card attacked my opponent's last card and my opponent's second card attacked my last card. My opponent's last card restored some shield back to Djinn Oshanus and attacked my first card.

I attacked twice with my first card and like the other round, missed the second attack. Djinn Oshanus was healed and my opponent's deeplurker killed my first card. It was reborn and healed by my Goblin Psychic.

Round 4

My opponent killed my first card and deeplurker killed my new first card which was already killed once. Queen Mycelia from my team was now the first card.

Round 5

Queen Mycelia was killed by my opponent's first card and was reborn. Both teams attacked and Queen Mycelia was killed again. At this stage, I knew my opponent had won the battle. Most of my attacks were not damaging but my opponent's were.

Round 6

Djinn Oshanus attacked my first card and reduced the health to 2. After missed attacks from both me and my opponent, my healer healed my first card to 4.

Round 7

My enemy's first card killed my Regal Peryton, it was reborn and all along, every dead card increased the health of my last card by 1. At this stage of the battle, the health of my last card was 10.

My opponent's last card killed Regal Peryton and deeplurker killed my Goblin psychic first and it was reborn.

Round 8 - Round 10

Unfortunately, my last card couldn't attack. So, it just stood there and got attacked till it was finally killed in round 10.
